  1. production manager "setup inactive" message?

I can't wait to go check that out!! I would expect it to be something simple like that. I have a new guy running it now, & he is a talented guy & quick learner... but for all his years in the sign trade... computer work is not where he has the bulk of his experience, so clicking his way...
  2. New to the board, Ready to help if needed!

I would take photos of the sides or back from a direct straight on vantage point... then superimpose your mock-ups with no distortion needed. If you are using rastor images maybe use photoshop instead of illustrator, so you can use a little transparency to let vehicle contours, window trim &...
  3. production manager "setup inactive" message?

Thanks, I could send a cut again, but one of my jobs I set up a repeat, resize & rotate, that wasn't saved... so that 20sq. ft. print/cut file can not be recreated. It's not a big deal to reprint it... but I want to find out what is causing this issue & how to stop it, because so far it has...
  4. production manager "setup inactive" message?

I've been sending print/cut files to my mimaki equipment out of flexi for close to 2 years now & have always had the cut files stack up in the production manager & wait there days or weeks until the job is cured, laminated & ready to be cut. (usually next day... but not always) Anyway, this...
  5. Mimaki Jv3 Question

the opposite direction? they don't line up with the pinch rollers do they? I think the uni-or Bi comment is valid too... if momentum carries the ink drops a little ahead of where the carriage was when it fired... then every other pass has printing microscopically off in the opposite...
  6. Looking for...a better Substrate cutter

not much more to tell... I don't have much demand as I said, so I usually just use a straight edge. I cut gatorboard with the blade on the panel saw... I buy coro in precut sizes if I need a lot of them. I even have an expensive "Practic" trimmer by keencut & it's been waiting for me to make...
  7. Looking for...a better Substrate cutter

I have the knifekit. I never use it. If it fit your saw, I'd probably sell it. *edit* Actually, knowing me... I love to have every tool imaginable... just in case... so I probably won't sell it, so I shouldn't have said that... but the point was that, it doesn't seem that valuable to me. I...
  8. looking for a 100$ bill

amazing... I never knew about that business with the scanners. 12 years ago when my employer got hisy first color scanner & desktop printer... scanning & printing a bill was the first test I ran... the boss got a little uneasy about that idea once we completed it though. Did anyone check the URL...
  9. can print from Prod manager, not Flexi??

I use Flexi to print. When I want to send a file to the printer, I click on a "rip & Print" icon... which launches ... "production manager" ...so I can't really grasp the thought of printing "from Flexi", as being something different then printing "from production manager"
  10. Extreme Makeover Submissions - Vote Now

well... that ain't sayin' much now is it? ..so what would come of the makeover if your suggestion stays in the lead Marc? Would this client be someone who would be offended to show them whatever happens here in that case?
  11. Extreme Makeover Submissions - Vote Now

I might eat there, but it would be more difficult to refer someone esle to check it out.
  12. Extreme Makeover Submissions - Vote Now

I was going to vote for mine... 'cause using this site to get out of doing my own work always seems to generate some interesting discussions  ...but instead, I voted for Jillbeans first one. It seems as though someone really wanted a nicer design then the usual & therefore it lends...
  13. Illustrator mystery...

actually Flexi keeps running me in circles, because after 10 years of Illy... shift keeps movements on axis... and it keeps things proportionate... makes sense to my intuition... but of course, after 10 years... I should hope so. (I only have 2 years with Flexi in my shop & my employees...
  14. To Dell or not to Dell...

2 for 2 on my dells (both great)
  15. To all I Apologize !!

it was a joke... my way of saying it takes two to tangle ...but stepping back in the ring to shake hands is cool. ...although I did almost fire a client today... he is probably gone (I should be so lucky) ...but I didn't force that decision... I just mildly encouraged it.
  16. To all I Apologize !!

well I just told a customer to get an f'n education... & now he doesn't want me for his sign guy anymore... so you were partly right too... $#!T ...here come his army men now
  17. removing binding box, HELP

all the approaches above sound logical, but another not yet mentioned that might be appropriate is to take the stuff you want in front, & bring it into photoshop. If you are dealing with any rastor image, then I'm not sure you need any other element to be vector art... so that front stuff could...
  18. Mimaki CG-130FX carriage belt mangled

mine still looks like the day I bought it
  19. How how how??

hmm... I was just out the door when I logged on to see if you got this handled... now I see that your one screenshot was from the "save for web" window & that's where it's putting that halo of white around it. My earlier 5 minute success last night was from you old file that allowed me to...
  20. How how how??

as far as the white goes, I see it in one of your screenshots & not the other, but I would remove it from a layerd version so there is absolutely no white. In my earlier example, & pulled down the gif from your sig & removed the white with the magic wand, so it got fuzzy by the shadow as to what...
