  1. What to use for a lighted sign?

Looks like that panel is no bigger than 3x6 and no more than 15' or so off the ground. Do what the others say as to the proper permit and insurance. The problem comes in if you don't have access to a bucket truck or scaffolding. You will need to get up there to measure the faces. If you are...

  3. Mutoh Falcon Outdoor Question

    Do you mean 45.7"?
  4. Mutoh Falcon Outdoor Question

I just sold mine after 4 years with no complaints other than speed. Never had to change either head. I did have to change the capping station and pump a few times. I used Flexi as my sign software and rip. With Flexi you are able to run it as a 4 color machine which is how I used it the last...
  5. What to use for a lighted sign?

Judging by your post. You are only wanting to do the tenant panel in the existing marquee sign out in front of the strip mall, right? If so, the previous posters are correct in that polycarbonate or acrylic with translucent vinyl is what you need. You maybe able to get a piece (not a full 4x8...
  6. slitting down media

Advantage Sign Supply in Virginia can do it. Will they do it is a different story. 1-800-286-1221. They used to slit material I bought from them down to 48" for my Outdoor Falcon when I had it. Not all of their branches will slit rolls but it looks like there is a branch in PA, 1-800-516-9737.
  7. Falcon Outdoor II...Cyan prints Black?

How is it set up? Dual cmyk, 6 color? What order are the cartridges in? Mine is set up in such a way that there is no way cross contamination can occur. 4 heads, each head handles it's own color. If I'm not mistaken this printer can be set up 2 different ways using 4 color. B,Y,C,M,M,C,Y,B or...
  8. Prismjet Extra 38/Falcon Outdoor Jr. - Puddle of Ink

If you are sure the seal from between the tubing and the ink line was a good connection then I can only come to the conclusion that there is a leak somewhere from that point back. I think it is time to take the covers off and start looking around. You might be "lucky" and see a puddle adjacent...
  9. No Ink Mutoh Falcon Outdoor Jr.

A voltage over current. That's what fuses are for. They protect the equipment. Do you get ink flow (or bubbles) out of the waste lines while running a cleaning cycle?
  10. No Ink Mutoh Falcon Outdoor Jr.

This has been talked about many time here. Do a search for head fuse Mutoh. I bet that's what it is.
  11. Sign Install Backing Material Help

Any of the saw suggestions above will do fine. I suggest using trim cap too. If your cut is a little off or you accidentally gouge a small section sometimes the trim cap will cover it. It will also help the black stay down longer. Be careful putting it on and use silicone so it won't come off easy.
  12. Bucket Truck sign holder

If it's a pan face I've used automotive repair suction cups (http://www.harborfreight.com/dual-cup-suction-lifter-46134.html) You just need to make sure the material is clean. I generally use the inside of the panel so the suction cup doesn't span over and vinyl. To ease things sometime taking...
  13. Printing to cut? Can this be done?

If you are considering LXi and are thinking you will print in the future, reconsider your decision. LXi can't handle a wide format printer. Only a desktop printer. To do what you want you will need a minimum of Flexi Print&Cut As for you doing the contour cutting. It might work if you are...

  15. Wholesale printing, charging for waste?

Never mind Bob, I don't realize it was you or I would have never considered replying to your original comment. Based on previous threads you have posted to I know that you are only in it for yourself and you don't give a crap about others. What is right or wrong in your eyes is vastly different...
  16. Wholesale printing, charging for waste?

I'm curious - Do you give your customer everything they paid for? Meaning, if you charge them for 11' of 36" banner material do you hand that over with their 1x10 banner? That's like having a substrate cut down and your supplier not giving you the drop but being charged for the entire sheet...
  17. commercial door adjustment

Talk to the property owner. They should fix it.
  18. Solvex Perf and Lamex lam...

I used Solvex Perf and Lamex lam on my personal truck. It lasted well over 2 years and I pulled it off just because I didn't want it anymore.
  19. Wholesale printing, charging for waste?

That wasted material cost you $5.70 @ 0.19sf for banner material, can you not eat that for a +/-$400.00 banner?
  20. Wholesale printing, charging for waste?

Judging by the responses to the subject at hand apparently we do things differently. We don't charge for waste. I consider waste a part of doing business. For banners - we charge by actual print size. As stated above, why should my customer have to pay b/c I either don't have the proper size...
