  2. Mimaki JV400LX OR HP L26500????

if you think you'll only occasionally use white, don't bother. its a waste unless you're constantly moving that ink. i'm a HUGE mimaki fan, but this 26500 I just picked up is just so freakin' awesome. onboard color profiling and disposable printheads with automatic alignment, too cool...
  3. Is there a solvent printable cast media that is compatible with PPG clear coat paint?

yes. have you tried painting what you currently use already?
  4. Do I have a head going bad?

as stated above, misalignment can also cause banding. looking at the photo alone, my guess would be ink supply issues. does the banding occur during the whole print, or does it start/stop randomly? black-only or do you notice banding in blues/reds/greens as well?
  5. Ritrama Vinyl?

haven't really used the calendared vinyl, but Ritrama's banner material and vehicle wrap vinyls are awesome. ...especially at the competitive pricing they offer. guaranteed you can get a free short-roll to try, all you gotta do is ask. regardless, i'd say go for it. you should know what...
  6. Only black is printing after printhead-replacement.

+1 sightline's comment. apologies, posted from my phone and I could have sworn we were talking about a jv130
  7. JV3-160S Boot Trouble

much easier to flush than to swap ink lines. if I were powering-up from a long shut-down, I'd run a few extended nozzle washes followed by a pair of head washes and then a pair of fillupink. you'll need cleaning cartridges, or just some homebrew cleaning solution injected into cashed ink...
  8. Only black is printing after printhead-replacement.

use a syringe and draw on the ink line from below the pump, at about 1cc/sec. otherwise, you can always disconnect all the ink lines from the pump except the ones you want to fillupink... less mess
  9. Help... Printing Reds

currently printing a beautiful C4M100Y99K4 Red.

  14. Where can I get brushed alum channel letters

+1 gemini fabbing that brushed aluminum laminated letter coil is a pita, gonna be pricey wherever you get it.
  15. Mimaki Head error 007

you will generate a head error 07 if your ribbon cables aren't placed securely and in the right order. that and anything else that could inhibit data from going from point A (board) to point B (printhead) and yes, the asterisk denotes which channel is bad.
  16. Ever see a test print like this on a jv3

do a data swap to confirm. plug the magenta head cables from the board to the cyan printhead, and cyan to the magenta. you'll still see a cyan streak and the magenta pattern will print clean and out of place. ...and if the streak is magenta with a clean cyan pattern printed, then the ink is...
  17. Ever see a test print like this on a jv3

nah, its your cyan printhead and not the board. ink spill on cable, trickles down to the seat and bridges/gums-up the connectors. get a new printhead, or you can attempt to clean yourself with some clean card-stock and cleaning solution. wet the card with cleaner, and insert to ribbon cable...
  18. HELP! Onyx RIP queue says my printer is offline

right-clicking on the printer and selecting "restart" also works for me, but clicking on the red circle to "go online" has always been my #1.
  19. Installing 4x8 banner onfence

can't beat black zip-ties. well, you can, but its overkill and a waste of time/money. by the time you've screwed anything in... you could have zip-tied nearly all of your banners.
