  1. First Time purchase/set up

Or you could sub them out and have them made for $3600, save a fortune, support a merchant, not ruffle any feathers here, not have to buy a plotter and put the other $7400 into doing what the church is supposed to be doing which the last time I checked had NOTHING to do with making signs...
  2. Where can I buy ding board? not foamboard.

If you find Gatorboard for $15 PLEASE post where you found it. We usually pay about $45 a sheet when we need it. I wonder if "DING BOARD" means board that had dents and dings in it that his supplier is selling him at a discount. Gator foam is still prone to both, just not as bad as foam board.

  6. Looking for some setup help

Have you installed the updated HASP drivers for the dongle? Try this and see if it helps. http://www.teklynx.com/media/bin/product/labelview/HASP4_driver_setup.zip Sorry about the "automatically downloading" link. If you click on it, it will download the file. The installation instructions...
  7. How would I do this font effect??

Flexi does that. In the "DISTORT" tools theres one that looks like a flat line on the bottom and a curve going up from the top. Select your text, select that distort tool, then click the clockwise rotation button on your Design Central pallette twice. That makes it arc the bottom instead of...

You know, when you buy the license right to reproduce the logo the NFL will provide you with every possible version you'll ever need.
  9. Christmas Vectors

The Christmas section on Bee-Line 1 & 2 is pretty sweet. Nice clean artwork and great styles. The collections a little pricey but it pays for itself pretty quick.
  10. Do you keep your cutter running all day?

Buy a good surge protector, plug a battery backup into that, and plug your stuff in there. Your odds of losing anything on the computer are less than your odds of being in a car wreck trying to get to the shop to turn the stuff off. Remember, cheap circuit strips are not surge protectors.
  11. Do you keep your cutter running all day?

We never turn off the computers or the plotters. Both are running through dual surge protectors and a battery backup system and haven't been off in several years.
  12. want to have computer built on a budget

We just upgraded our main workstation to this system...we added an extra DVD burner, 22" LCD monitor, an extra 100 Gb hard drive and an external 500 Gb drive and still came in at less than $2000. Our two regular workstations are Dell Dimension 521 systems with dual processors, dual hard drives...
  13. please save down an Illustrator CS3 file for me

The greatest thing about the upgrade, and something I find myself using constantly now, is the Live Color feature. When you can grab a handle on the color wheel and shift the palette of your entire piece in seconds it opens up a whole new world of color harmonies you never thought of. Email...
  14. How to adjust length in Flexi or Corel without changing end radius

Same thing I was thinking Doug...it's two to three seconds faster and since time is money you'll make an extra penny or two on the job...couple of hundred jobs a year and you're talking some real money! :thumb:
  15. So, who's gonna be the guinea pig...

Nice...until they decide to go into the sign business and make you try to compete with digital printing on decal at less than $1.00 psf retail. Laugh at the concept but it's coming quicker than you think. Channel letters are already being produced that way, being sold for half of what you can...
  16. Another Font ID Please

  17. 81 font?

Looks a whole lot like Swiss 921 BT.... stretched.... reverse slant 13 degrees... cut the spur off the 1.
  18. Is this a good buy?

I wouldn't buy it. Look at that banner printing out of the machine. Obviously this model makes ugly signs.
