  1. Discussion I can't figure it out.............................

All new letters for CHINA BUFFET and a new 3' x 12' box sign. They want to put a picture in there. In addition, the wall is failing around the CHI in existing sign. It's about 4" lower as the bolts have broken loose. I'd be responsible for patching all the holes that remain with as close a...
  2. Discussion I can't figure it out.............................

In the picture below, the large letters are 48" tall with about a 14" stroke. The smaller letters are 15", maybe 16" tall. Didn't get a good read on it. We're supposed to remove everything and put CHINA BUFFET back up with a 3' x 12' box sign above it where JUMBO now is. All LED. The...
  3. Gilding a wooden carved sign: golden leaf over polyurethane?

This is more along the lines I was thinking. The outline on the letters would be some surrounding color and then altered to fit.
  4. Gilding a wooden carved sign: golden leaf over polyurethane?

Black outlines on glass look good, but I'm not sure about a board. I'd sooner see the outer edge painted black with a gold border and all gold letters. Since you already have the letter outlined, think about a hue of something nearby where the sign is gonna hang or be attached. Take that...
  5. Just In Just wanted to say Hello and Introduce myself.

  6. Installing 4x4 realtor signpost

Aw man, around here, it's mostly clay or shale...... and lotsa rocks, bedrock in most cases. Sometimes ya dig a hole and when you get to the next hole, ya hit nothing but rocks and hafta start all over. Not to mention roots.
  7. Installing 4x4 realtor signpost

That's all fine and dandy, but how do you do this, if you're simply replacing a 4×8, 4×4 or any size....... do you take the old posts out ?? What if they're cemented in ?? Of course it's easier to do it your way, but how often do you have nice flat spaces where you're putting up a sign out...
  8. Coroplast Sign Pricing...

Alright, let's put it this way. Do you wanna d!ck around with 10 different customers, set up 10 different files, weed, print or whatever 10 different jobs and then collect on those jobs individually........ or do it one time, set up one job, do it and make a whole lot more profit ?? Let's...
  9. Burnout Signs

That's a horrible sign. Good thing it's rotting away. You don't wanna prolong the life of things like that, so don't use that sign as a model.
  10. Coroplast Sign Pricing...

Our flatbed is not fast by today's standards. At draft type speeds, maybe 8pcs 4×8 an hour. Normal good production mode.... 4 an hour. High end maybe 2 an hour. I have quite a few profiles, so those numbers can be fine tuned I stopped trying to compete with places that do that and really...
  11. Coroplast Sign Pricing...

About 10 years ago, a local guy was getting his 18×24s for 78 cents ea. Is that what you want ?? A race to the bottom ?? It might keep ya busy, but you ain't making squat, unless you have the machinery for it. If that's your cup-a-tea, go for it..... otherwise, try to find a more profitable...

  13. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering Part 2

Oops, so he did. We'd normally wait 10 days for latex. You'll almost never find oil-based pints on inside walls anymore.
  14. Tape Mount Acrylic Lettering Part 2

    Exterior or interior ??
  15. Never come across this before....................

I was lucky. I got a few PMs and another friend of mine told me to check in with a particular company. So, I had about 5 companies to call. The first one told me just about everything I needed to know, but could not provide anything for exterior use. The next company could do it all, but had...

Reach out to Fred Weiss. He is a Merchant Member on here and is about the best source for Gerber anything information. You'll find him lurking in the fonts & typography section.
  17. Installing 4x4 realtor signpost

That's pretty much what I've done my whole life, but now that I'm getting older and still doing these things, I'm tending to take some of these easy gimmicks and use them also the last year or two. Slinging a 4x8'x3/4" MDO board ain't all that easy anymore.
  18. Never come across this before....................

I can't say for sure, but most large usage languages and written languages will have braille for their own. However, we have the only braille system for ADA that I know of. Perhaps ask a Canadian if they have it for French or some spanish member from mexico if they have it. Down in Puerto...
  19. Cutting polycarbonate with a panel saw

Have 7 saws here and all have a different tooth count. All of them cut fine. Vary from 7.25' up to 12". Our band saw cuts it and so does the scroll saw and the jigsaws. It's the acrylic you need to be careful about.
  20. Never come across this before....................

Yeah, especially cause all these trails wind around and up & down hills and most of all around a huge waterway of about 1,200 acres of water with about 35 miles of trails. No one is gonna wander around on their own, if they're blind or handicapped impaired vision. Just plain not safe.
