  1. Roland VP 540I Head Change and now this. PLEASE HELP!

Turn the machine off, unplug it and hit the power button a couple times and wait about 10 minutes. Now triple check all of your head cables, especially the black head cables. If there is any ink, debris, damage, and/or burn marks on the silver leads, the cable need to be replaced. Also, a lot of...
  2. Cyan and yellow not printing

Not using the printer for months has clogged your heads. Keep in mind that solvent printers make great outdoor durable prints but the down fall is that the ink dries very quickly when exposed to air. The maintenance parts are designed to prevent this from happening but they are not perfect...
  3. Top 10 members all-time

I don't know. I get at least 1 customer per month that comes in and says that he has teamed up with some big wig in the sign industry and they are going to take over the industry! We own banners.com! Then 6 months later they are asking us to buy their equipment.
  4. Sending flexi eps files

A lot of times you run into this when opening a file that was designed in another program. Usually, if you juts load it into the RIP without opening it in an editor first, it translates properly. The same thing happens with fonts. Open a file with a font in it that you don't have in Flexi...
  5. roland sg 300

I'm pretty sure they just announced these for North America so I don't think you will find a lot of people who have any experience with them yet. The machine is basically a Roland printer with Richo heads instead of Epson heads. The specs are fairly unremarkable as far as speed and resolution...
  6. Mutoh VJ 1204

So your maintenance station is failing and not pulling ink down as well as it should. That's why when you did the soak, nothing changed. Then, when you flushed the machine, the maintenance station was able to pull some solution through because, although it is failing, it is not completely bad...
  7. transfer mimaki software registration

Yes. Just deactivate on that site and then you should be able to re-activate the normal way after you install it on the new computer.
  8. Setting up Mimaki UJF3042 in warehouse space ?

The main concerns will be large temperature fluctuations and dust. If the warehouse is very cold in the morning and then heats up to room temp during the day, that can affect the pressure systems in a negative way. As long as the temperature stays within the specs, you should be alright. Just...
  9. Need to purchase genuine Flexisign 8.6 or 10

The subscription is $50 per month if that fit's your budget. You could justify the cost to your department by saying it will always be up to date and you won't have to purchase an upgrade every time you upgrade your equipment. I haven't ever seen educational discounts on Flexi before but it...
  10. VENT - Things that annoy you in the print industry.

When people throw an entire brand under the bus because their printer breaks down. Then you ask them, when was the last time you cleaned and maintained the printer? The answer a lot of times is, I'm supposed to maintain this thing? Protect your investment people! Maintenance is key.
  11. CG 160FX detecting marks erratic

It could be that the sensor is failing. They tend to fail sporadically rather than failing out right. Is there a reason you are using crop marks on each row? Why not bundle a bunch together in one set of crop marks?
  12. Yellow ink not getting into damper.. Please help..

There is an O-ring between the brass nut and ink line that connects the damper to the ink line. That o-ring can go bad. Also, over time it can make an impression on the ink line which can cause air leaks. If the dampers are older than a year+ I would just change the dampers and o-rings.
  13. Yellow ink not getting into damper.. Please help..

You probably have a bad cap top and/or the seal between the damper and ink line has been broken. Use a syringe to pull ink in the damper manually. Once ink is in both yellow dampers, it should stay and not recede. If it does, there is a bad seal. If it stays, run a cleaning cycle. If the head...
  14. Vertical lines are grainy?

Looks like a bad bi-directional alignment to me. I don't have any experience with that printer but that's what it looks like when you don't get the alignments done just right on the printers I work on.
  15. Ink Buildup on Roland

I would turn the print heat down to around 35 and see if that helps. What to wipe the ink off with? It shouldn't be there in the first place. Head strikes should be avoided at all costs as they cause damage to the head. Wiping the ink off is a nice way to save a job but don't rely on it as a...
  16. Dripping Ink?

Usually ink dripping out of the head is a bad dampers, cartridge or bulk ink system failure. I would start with the damper. You should be able to change just 1 damper on that machine which would be the standard dual channel damper but don't quote me on that as Epson tends to do things...
  17. printer issues

Are you printing on material you haven't printed on before? What's going on is the black is over saturated so it is bleeding into the other colors. This can be caused by heat settings being too low, material not accepting the ink as quickly as is should, profile issues etc. If the pattern is...
  18. Are Mutoh vj-1604 pump and capping station the same as the Mutoh vj-1604 E

They are the same exact machine except for maybe a few menu changes.
  19. Need help asap please: Error 0 92 Overload

It's more of a design flaw. The head rests on the lock when it's not being used. Over time the metal just gives in and bends to the side the head is pushing towards. The higher end versions of that machine have a much more robust lock system and I am willing to be the next models from Mutoh will...
  20. Need help asap please: Error 0 92 Overload

That's the head lock mechanism and it malfunctions fairly regularly on these machines. This would be the thing that got in the way of your print head so the motor over loaded. So it's more of a fix fix if you ask me! The only other thing you could do is replace it so the metal starts out a...
