  1. Cheap flexi alternative that scales objects

I just checked out Rick's cadtools link because i never looked into it before... but I think I'll stick with the workaround I use for now, since my need for dimensioning is far less sophisticated then what Rick does on his projects. I do layouts over digital photos of buildings, windows &...
  2. Chiseled

did you just figure out on your own exactly where you wanted vector paths & then create them yourself... or was there some kind of tool where you select a character & click on some "chisel-it" wizard? ...being an old-school guy, I figured you're talkin' hand vectorized from your own...
  3. Serious cutting issues with Graphtec!

if it says Graphtec... that is what it is. I think Re-Branded... means they took that name off, & put on some other SW name. they are then allowed to sell it as having been "made by graphtec" ...but are not allowed to sell it with the name graphtec on it. This would be because of the...
  4. Chiseled

interesting idea, if I understand it correctly. I'd bet most of us have never hand vectorized a chisel font to trade though. I did my own prismatic effect on a few characters of Avant Garde for my logo, but I never went on to finish the alphabet. Rastorized bevel effects have been there...
  5. What is HTD???

I don't think it would fit on the little illuminated jeopardy signs
  6. Carbonfibre fills

our new merchant, H & H Sign Supply has some vinyl on his website that looks like photos of actual cloth:
  7. I am a Font

yeah, I agree Helvetica can look good!
  8. What is HTD???

in the context of "what is?" I would have to say it's a cryptic answer to a jeopardy question.
  9. Edge Print has hairline mis-printed

if it is a blown pixel, at least it's not right down the center, so you can still print 9-3/4" prints... sucks I know... but always lookin' at the bright side. (I hope you have a service contract.
  10. Carbonfibre fills

what do you mean: "print on wrap-vinyl to sale as carbonfibrelook"? are you doing a wrap? ...or are you just wanting to sell 'carbonfibrelook' vinyl? those 2 you mentioned are the best 2 I've ever heard of, & good enough that in the right hands, they should be a fine representation of...
  11. I am a Font

sure, I'll believe it can be done, so yeah... go ahead & show us what ya got?
  12. "Vector Art" brand clipart Versus "Bee-Line"

unlike many other forums, Fred set this forum up to maintain integrity in the posting of images in a thread by uploading them right to the signs101 server. It appears that your links may not work for those of us not participating, or logged in at that forum. They are all dead links for me...
  13. Think customer-provided files are scary now??? Just wait...

it's already bad enough that when I inquire about clients access to industry standard software like Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Photoshop... ever since free versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader were literally popping up on everyone's computer... they ALL look at me with self-important airs of...
  14. Wood Grain fill

I've scanned my cheyenne teak vinyl before. For a card that should match a sign made with that stuff, it might be a good idea to try.
  15. BOY's & GIRL's ROOM

oh... I thought you meant restroom icons
  16. Flexi/Illustrator Issues

I almost always export as an RGB .tif right out if Illustrator, at full size, & I set the resolution that I want while exporting & I usually never even look at it in Photoshop unless I have other work to do with it over there.
  17. How do I make columned lists???

bad link to the good guys... well, microsoft excel is a good program to make a bunch of squares in columns... but then you said to be printing from? Are you going to print a vinyl sign of your prices, or sheets of paper on your desktop printer? I use Illustrator to draw just about anything...
  18. HELP! Problem printing on magnet material!

I hope it works out for you. You might be able to leverage a better repair price from the folks who sold you the printer. Even though it's not their fault (unless it was they who told you to do it) ... you have a long future stretching out before you of buying inks & media.. so if that same...
  19. FTP Site...

I'm not sure if this is of interest, but you can click HERE to read about Godaddy's Online File Folder. I think it might address some of what you want to do. I bought the service & only tried it out once. In that case it didn't work as I had hoped, but I forget the particulars now. If you...
  20. College guy and his decal business

I was going to be an architect... but I did have an engineer scale  if I was going to be an engineer though... I think I'd be an uncivil one.
