I have to make a 44" circle for a sign and I am using Dibond as the substrate. I was wondering if anyone has used a rotary saw like a rotozip or something like that to cut through the dibond. I was going to test it out on a small piece but the only piece I can find in the shop is a 45"x48"...
Ahh the voodoo finger. I have done a ton of these for a body shop around here. Mostly as a negative so they can paint it on the bike. As for anything else, not so much. I have done stuff for a cousin that sells stuff at swap meets. He tells anyone who buys them that he makes them. The most...
I was out doing a window install today and in the unit next to me was another sign guy putting up a sign on a door. We got to talking and as I was applying to vinyl he told me he would never use paper transfer tape because it is harder to use and messes up all the time. I have had transfer...
I was thinking about getting a cradle as well. I was also looking at a laminator too.
That looks pretty cool. I was wondering if you can use it as a laminator as well. I found the website for the sheeter.
Good to hear Chris. I was going to call you guys up earlier today but I got caught up on a couple of other things. The owners have finally decided on getting this size. Of course, they have changed their fricken minds about 15 times already, so the size could change.
Both signs are 4x8 and will be mounted on the sides of the building. One will be approx 25' high at the bottom of the sign. The other is going to be approx 40' high.
As for longevity. The owners are wanting something up right now so people can find them. They want a fully light sign but...
I have never rolled it, I have always used the spray can. Maybe the stuff you need to roll on isn't as good. Not sure. About 3 years ago, I got in a pinch because I forgot to tell the place I outsource my printing to laminate the prints, I needed to have something put up before Sunday. It...
I know how you feel.
I would almost bet this was the case. I have done 3 or 4 structural analysis on canopy failures in the past. 9 times out of ten, it was due to the installation. I have actually been in court as a prof. witness and have heard the installers say we always do that and this...
I have been known to use it from time to time. I have never had any problems or yellowing out here in the desert. I have had another sign guy tell me it was terrible and it screwed his prints up. He then also told me he finished the prints and about 1/2 hour later sprayed it onto his prints...
I am getting ready to do two signs for a local shop here and we are going to use Dibond as the substrate. I have used it before in the past but I was thinking of just having it printed onto the Dibond. I have talked to some people here that say it doesn't look as good when it is printed onto...
That sucks. I hope the place who did the awning for you steps up and makes this right.
Its hard to tell in the pix, but did the anchors pull out or did they snap. Also did they reuse the original hardware to put it back up? Kinda looks like to me that they may have put it up with only...
a 12" diameter ball has approx 450 sqin each pentagon covers approx 10.67 sq in. 10.67 x 12 = 128 sqin.
Hexagon covers approx 16.11 sqin. 16.11 x 20 = 322 sqin. 322+128 = 450
Correct. The actual difference between a 12" and a 10" is actually an approx. 30% drop in surface area. so your...
I have both. Some days I like the easel and some days I hate it. I like it for full 4x8 aluminum sheets and things like that. I also have a 3x4 easel that can be folded down to a flat table. Its nice when you need the extra space.
Ok. I have been trying to write this out for you to understand I think I am making it harder than it really needs to be. The pdf I sent is close but not exact. I think I have it right for you on the 12" ball. you should be able to scale it down at the 83.33333%.
I only have 1 hexagon and...
I have a feeling they changed it just like walmart changed theirs. Of course walmart has changed theirs i think 5 times.
Taking away all CAPS is kind of the new thing for large corporations. I would imagine that you will see this more often.
On here, we are looking at it from a graphic...
