  1. Adobe Certifications

The way I got my first job was the owner sat me down in front of a computer and had me recreate a few designs in illustrator from some scanned images of jobs he had done in the past. He said I was hired as soon as he saw me use the shift key to align some objects. I guess the last designer said...
  2. cjv-30 /100

All CJV models use Epson heads from the beginning. The only issue with the CJV30-100 is the 40" size is not a standard material size. You will probably use a lot of 30" material but if you want to use the full width, you will need to get rolls slit down. Otherwise it's a great machine.
  3. XR-640 Printer manual Required/WTF is going on here.

I would make sure the cap top is draining completely after a cleaning first. If not, that is your issue. It could be caused by a clogged waste tube or bad pump. Then I would move on to changing the dampers. In rare cases the membrane inside the head is damaged which could cause the issue as well.
  4. 1204 dropping bands of ink during print

Shoot us an email and I'll get a quote for you. We would drop ship them directly from Mutoh. Customerservice@solventinkjet.com
  5. 1204 dropping bands of ink during print

Dang it! I would start with changing the trailing cables and guides. It's not the easiest or funnest repair but it should fix the issue. You could try changing the head cables first but in this situation it's almost always the trailing cables especially if you were getting error 74. They are...
  6. 1204 dropping bands of ink during print

When the cable is old, it can become deformed from moving back and forth a million times. It starts to jump up and down instead of moving smoothly. Eventually it will start to hit the case randomly from the jumping and for some reason that scrambles the signal from the main board to the head...
  7. 1204 dropping bands of ink during print

The top of the printer case. You basically want to expose the trailing cables.
  8. mutoh 1204 has sucked magenta ink into yellow line? so no yellow print? help

When the dampers go bad or an air leak is present, the ink flows back to the cartridge, pulling whatever ink is in the cap and also from near by channels. The ink in your machine just pulled all the way back to the cartridge and contaminated it.
  9. 1204 dropping bands of ink during print

Take the long top cover off the machine and run some prints that way. If the issue is resolved, your trailing cables and guides need to be changed. This method works sometimes but not always and the issue could still be bad trailing cables even if the issue doesn't go away with the cover off. If...
  10. Colour Conundrum??

Change the dampers and o-rings. Also, make sure the ink cartridge is still full.
  11. Colour Conundrum??

Small inconsistencies are expected but it sounds like yours if off quite a bit. Next time the heaters heat up, feel both sides of the platen(back and front of machine) to see if there is a big difference. If one side is much hotter or colder than the other, that would most likely be the problem.
  12. mutoh 1204 has sucked magenta ink into yellow line? so no yellow print? help

I'd change the dampers and o-rings for the yellow. Sounds like there is an air leak which makes the ink recede back to the cartridge, pulling ink up from the cap in the process. This would cause the magenta to cross contaminate like is was before it emptied out as well.
  13. Mimaki CJV 150-160

Did you set the printer up yourself or did a dealer tech? Am I understanding that the printer just doesn't print at all?
  14. Mimaki CJV 150-160

What exactly is the problem? The silver and white aren't printing? Not sure how to setup the files?
  15. Mimaki JV400 SUV, does anybody own one?

The guy probably got the JV400 for free from Mimaki because they were giving them out with the purchase of a flatbed. I don't want to get to bashy on my friends at Mimaki but the JV400 never got popular for ... reasons. Just to add, the JV150/300 and CJV150/300 are the best machines I have...
  16. FlexiSignPro 8 and Windows 10 error

What OS sis you run before upgrading? If it was a 32 bit system and now you are on 64, you need to update the driver for your cutter to the 64bit version. Also, I have noticed that when you already have software install and then upgrade to windows 10, it tends to glitch out. If you install from...
  17. Mutoh ink useage at rapid rate

Did this just start happening recently? I would double check your cleaning settings to make sure they didn't get set to clean too often accidentally. Then start looking at the maintenance station as stated above.
  18. JV33-160 Black Ink leaking into Yellow

Unfortunately I am leaning towards a damaged head. Have you flushed it recently? First check if there is ink in the black and yellow cartridges. I have run into this multiple times where the ink runs out but doesn't flag the machine. What happens is the pump runs and pulls on the empty cartridge...
  19. Excessive dripping from Cyan

It could also be a failing damper. I would start there. Are you using a bulk system? Third party inks? Sometimes it can just be a bad cartridge or a messed up bulk system.
  20. How to reverse flush printhead

I have found that the best solution is the OEM stuff you get with the machine for cleaning. Also, for some reason the Bordeaux brand is what I have used for the last year or so and it has worked well. Other stuff seems to clog the head more. I have used Goof Off on a head that sat for 6 months...
