  1. Name change

I don't think that's a very good idea. We're ALL helping here at s101. Why should you be any different ?? Besides, who wants the nickname hamburger helper or sign helper ?? In my opinion, you'd lose credibility by changing your name so quickly.
  2. New Guy Responding to your online reviews - second in a series

I tried to warn you and you said, bring it on...... and they did. Maybe you're trying too hard, maybe not hard enough. we've had quite a few characters over the years, some sill here, some gone, but this place thrives on knowing all. You can't be the guy behind the curtain at this place...
  3. Installing Flat letters with tape & Adhesive

Almost all of the time, we generate our own patterns. We use the entire letter. That way, it's perfectly straight, up & down. I think pinning them is the best way. You didn't mention their thickness, size or if these are interior or exterior.
  4. Do you do anything special for blade disposal

    I'm not listening to you...........................................................
  5. Do you do anything special for blade disposal

We save them in old tin cans and when full, drop them all over a competitors parking lot. Oh yeah, and be sure to remove all your fingerprints.
  6. New Guy Responding to your online reviews - second in a series

Our customers and clients generally don't write reviews, unless we ask them to do so. They are here for product, quality and craftsmanship. In return, they receive good pricing, service and are happy to keep coming back. I've had some of our customers for over 40 years. Some are new and some...
  7. New Guy Responding to your online reviews - second in a series

I don't care what language is his/her native language..... just be clear about what you're writing. Stop with the mystifying coverup.
  8. New Guy Responding to your online reviews - second in a series

You didn't ask me, but I don't understand this whole thread, thus far. I'm listening, but I don't hear anything that makes me wanna listen more intently. In fact, I'm getting bored to death with this one. I will watch threads and tune in every so often, but this one I lost interest on from...
  9. Need Help HELP: Roland sold me a defective printer and I lost $750,000

The object for them is not selling the machine, but the ink and media afterwards. That's the business they're after.
  10. New Guy Responding to your online reviews - second in a series

Where's addie when ya need him ??
  11. Shutting down printers nightly

Shut ours down every night and turn the compressor off, too. We were advised to turn the compressor off at night, to prevent any possible problems. We have 3 compressors in the shop which feed lines all around the shop and one gas powered one for out in the field.
  12. Need Help HELP: Roland sold me a defective printer and I lost $750,000

Brian..... I'm on your side, but when you see posts like squirrel posted and as you said yourself, the Roland people were most helpful and nice..... how do you expect to go up against hard cold facts vs.a salesperson e-mail ?? They might get reprimanded, but it's not gonna help your case, if...
  13. Need Help lamp distance

9" is most likely a small double sided cabinet, converted to a single side. You usually want 4" to 4.5" from the edge of the lamp to the back of the face. Make sure the cabinet (on the inside) is painted all white or silver, because a lotta light is gonna get wasted out the back.
  14. New Guy Responding to your online reviews - second in a series

Mentor, it could very easily be, one would hafta hire someone just to read all the reviews and then write back whether it be good or bad or trying to fix something. Some shops have many many jobs going out a week. You want an employee to waste time doing this ?? If you're all about mom & pop...
  15. Need Help HELP: Roland sold me a defective printer and I lost $750,000

If it's a pity party you want, ya came to the wrong place. You don't need pity, you need good hard facts, which is what I.... and a buncha others have given you, but you tend to think, you're gonna win because of a technicality. Again, good luck with that, but your paper trail is very weak...
  16. New Guy X-Acto Z-Series No. 11 Blade and listening

C'mon ma-a-a-an.............. give the guy a break. He's only testing the waters. He's gonna have some really interesting threads going quite soon. I can just feel it in my bones....... that is the hammer, anvil, and stirrup bones. I'm still listening.
  17. Question Never did this before..................

It supposed to be state-wide, but not a lotta places enforce it. It was a big deal years ago, when cops were coming up on vehicles they pulled over for whatever and the windows were clogged up with bullsh!t. Cops couldn't see in and were blasted away when coming up to the driver's window...
  18. Question Never did this before..................

Around here, anything on a rear window is supposed to be perf or nothing at all. It's the law. Even side rear windows are subject to that. It was also too much money to do a complete cover. So, I told her I'd put it on, but if she gets stopped, the invoice says we made the decals, but she...
  19. Question Never did this before..................

I should've mentioned the lettering is somewhat small and wispy. And no, I don't print white.
  20. New Guy New to Signs101

Yes, it happened before...... to a guy named Roger Bailey. He also conducted himself in the same manner. He had/has a wonderful product and is well known in the sign industry for many many years, but his attitude and mannerism was putrid. Even his son came on and apologized a few times for...
