  1. Question Quickbooks Premier 2020, Price?

For our office, we just upgraded on Friday, to 2020 premier plus pro with payroll and all the other goodies........ $158.90 w/tax. Good for another 3 years. In the shop, I'm still on 2011 premier and it works great, except I hafta create a PDF in a different manner, but that's due to windows...
  2. Boat Registration Numbers Complaint...for real???

Technically, the height goes off the flat letters. If they were 3", then the rounds would be slightly larger. What he wants is not the way any style is executed. I wouldn't play games. How much did you charge ?? Enough to have this ahole badmouth ya ?? Replace it and keep his number...
  3. Installing signs without a permit

Ask them. They will gladly tell you. Then explain, how you are losing jobs because so many other shops are not obtaining permits and probably not stamped engineer drawings to boot. Around here, some of the municipalities have actually hired 'sign police'. They literally go out, snap a...

  6. Anyone seeing loads of material shortages yet?

Acrylics are a nightmare. I heard they're something like 16 weeks out on that alone. Some of the other substrates are a tad hard to find, but they seem to be around somewhere..... plus the costs have gone up.
  7. Trouble with vinyl print sticking to new powdercoat

Powder coating cures within 30 minutes usually, unless it's seriously very thick, but even then, not very long. Sounds like some contaminate was on there and you didn't clean it properly or someone tried to clean it at the customer's place and used the wrong chemicals.
  8. I always wondered why...

Maybe they're from england ?? You don't know. Cut 'em some slack. Not everyone is from this country anymore and those people have the right to do whatever makes them happy. What you did was kinda called defensive driving, but the brain freeze is a little dangerous while doing 80mph. You...
  9. Fiberglass ladder care

I see more of them, than just about anything else. Nothing wrong with them or their looks. They're completely OSHA approved, if you get the right one. There are variations which will not be approved.
  10. Alodized vs Mill FInish Alum

Mill finish should be alright, as long as you thoroughly clean it first. We just did a dumpster with new steel on it and the paint shop forgot to clean the sheets and everything was done from welding to priming and painting, but when we put our letters on..... it completely took A L L of the...
  11. hardware to use on refurbished church signage?

Easiest way would be to take accurate measurements, stuff it with a dowel that size, drill it and put a threaded screw insert in it and bolt it closed. You can use a small fender washer to help. It won't be locking, but it'll work. Otherwise, just about any church sign manufacturer can send...
  12. Fiberglass ladder care

You could use fire grade rubber (it comes in white) and have an awning shop custom make a canopy and fit it with grommets and triple gusset the corners and have it fold down over the front, too. The night before you go on a job, take it off or wait til you get to the job. It should only be a...
  13. hardware to use on refurbished church signage?

I believe the hole in the lip will match up with the hole in the sign face and there is a locking mechanism that fits in there to make the sign vandal proof. You might hafta contact the manufacturer or fabricate one yourself.
  14. Fiberglass ladder care

I'm not arguing, but they start fading within 2 or 3 years up here, too. I'm in Pennsylvania. You have a more direct slant from the sun, so it might happen sooner, but it's still the same culprit. What I don't like is how they become rough to the touch. You can actually get cuts/fine...
  15. Fiberglass ladder care

It ain't the texas sun. Same thing happens everywhere. Throw a tarp over them, if you don't take them off. We have all yellow ones and aluminum. The yellow are rated higher and the yellow doesn't fade as quick, duh..............
  16. What material for Posted Signs

I have no idea what that product is that you mentioned, but what I've used for decades is something called railroad board. It's about a 14ply cardstock with a clay coating and you can direct print on it and it should last at least 1 to 2 years outside.

First, someone alludes to my wife being a pig and now you come out with this happy ending sh!t cause the word whack is used...... you filthy buncha toerags................................ :banghead:
  18. Suggestions Non-sign making predicament..............

The farm angle is correct, but our water table surface is less than 8' down and our well is 165' down. When you spray with some of these poisons and 'roundup' is at the top of the list..... that stuff goes into the leaves and down through to the roots. However, while the plant is dead, the...
  19. Suggestions Non-sign making predicament..............

We drink the water that runs under our land. We have hundreds of underground springs and waterways all over the place. No way do I want any poison finding it's way into our water supply. Carcasses and whatnot are one thing, but purposely putting that sh!t into our water...... nope. No one...
  20. Why are my backlit prints sweaty?

I've never seen anything like that, other than water dripping on it from a leak or by accident. Check your surroundings before going any further.
