  1. Flatbed Printers..... The Cost of a Yard Sign?

Hahahaaa........ not sure where you get your information on pricing, but your numbers are way off. All three of your costs are kinda wonky, if ya ask me..... and I don't even buy wholesale, anymore.

  4. Question Does Anyone Make a Printer That Can Sit Idle Without harm?

If you can afford to leave the shop for 4 weeks, you can afford to pay someone an hour a week to come in and run it through it's paces.
  5. Humans hiding - nature returning?

All of the rodents mentioned in your article have been chewing through wires in vehicles for a lot longer than they've been using the new formulas on wiring. It's just a cheap shot for class C a$$hole lawyers to make a buck while they go sue-crazy over something else. What about the wiring in...
  6. Question Does Anyone Make a Printer That Can Sit Idle Without harm?

It's a real easy fix. Just print a sample or something on Monday and do it again on Friday and it'll keep your machine in tip top shape. If that's too much bother, sell the thing and sub out, as it dcoesn't sound like a good investment, if it needs to sit idle the length of time you need.
  7. Humans hiding - nature returning?

Not at all. Squirrels, mice and other gnawing rodents chew on wire because their teeth are continuously growing. They've learned that chewing on wires helps with their dental work. They'll chew on any metal from gutters and down spouts to anything small enough to get their mouth around.
  8. Large Rooftop banner installation

About 45 years ago, the place I first started working at, was putting a sign on the face of a building. It was a flat roof (slight slope, of course) and we boomed the big stuff up onto the roof. Got the signs up and everything looked honkie-dorie when we left. About a week later, the boss got...
  9. Printing and contour cutting of Coro

So, are you looking more for free form shapes, rather than rectangles or squares ?? Like mentioned, what kinda quantity ?? Your profile is empty, so what are your in-house capabilities ??
  10. Humans hiding - nature returning?

Or ya sleepwalk and needed a snack.
  11. Looking for a stud placement chart for letters

I agree 100% with Bill above, but you also need to know what substrate you're using, heights, interior, exterior, thickness and length of studs being used.
  12. Pics of your Thermal Prints?

I did say the next trade show. Didn't say it would be tomorrow. You need to learn patience, besides.... with thermal, you'll need a lotta patience, anyway.
  13. Pics of your Thermal Prints?

Go to the next trade show and look at the stuff, first hand. You can't tell from pictures over the Internet.
  14. Need Help Sign Engineering

Stamped engineer drawings is a must with all signs in our area, now. Some municipalities enforce it more than others, but it is getting outta hand. Had a sign 30" × 41" going flat on a wall, exactly where an old sign was. Relatively new building, in great shape, the old sign weighed about...
  15. Just In My new bucket truck

Ya better go and re-check your states requirements. I believe you have some things confused. First, in Virginia, you'll need all the necessary licensing and certification by November of this year according to NCCCO. Second, you're not a stationary operator.
  16. Embroidery person needs help with sign pricing

So, one thing in any business is consistency. You're barely getting $3.50 a sq ft for your 8 x 8s and you're getting about $7 a sq ft for 12 x 24s. You didn't say how long it took ya, but those prices are dirt cheap, unless you like working like that. You ought to be going in at at least $9...
  17. Embroidery person needs help with sign pricing

Try to be more specific. What are you selling, how many, what size, what material(s) and what are you getting $$ presently ?? Also, you are getting into the sign business, if you are making signs and selling them. Doesn't make sense to think of it any other way..................
  18. Wanting to expand home-based business.

Judging by many of the things you wrote and some of your misguided questions, it seems you have the heart to do it, but not any knowledge to go beyond what you're already doing. Most anybody can do the printed garments and small signs, but to do what you want, you should have some first hand...
  19. Just In My new bucket truck

How did you get it off the lot or wherever without having the proper insurance on it ??
