  1. Question Should I Put An Edge Cap On This?

Maybe I'm the odd man out here, but my first question would be why MDO? Second why wrap the edges at all? Especially if they are getting handled that much, they will probably get torn up.
  2. Question With The Nor'easter Coming..................................

We got about 12-14" with some drifts up to 2 feet or more thanks to the wind, and it got heavy with the sleet at the end.
  3. suggestions for this partial wrap

I lalso would prefer to to do it as all cut vinyl, and explain the longevity of that method to the customer. If a close match can't be found good enough for the client then print and apply
  4. Question With The Nor'easter Coming..................................

It's only one storm and this time of year the snow could be gone in a week...so no real plans, just the usual. I turn off and unplug all the computers and printers just in case there's some weird power power surge. My suppliers already canceled deliveries for tomorrow, just hope they'll be here...
  5. Rant Rush Jobs

I have some very loyal clients because we take care of them, regular or rush, whatever, if it's possible we do it. This is for my regular clients not some random shopper. If it's something I don't have in house I will suggest an alternative, for instance, "I'm out of magnet but I'll print it on...
  6. General Rant Concerning "schooled" Designers

Ok, to add to "It doesn't look like it does on my screen", now they can actually display their design on a screen, a GIANT screen, digital billboards, and you still can't read them!
  7. General Rant Concerning "schooled" Designers

"This isn't what it looks like on my screen"
  8. Tbt Truck Lettering

    I miss Internationals, We had a 63 Travelall a 65 Scout and a 70 Travelall
  9. Tbt Truck Lettering

Yea, I guess I see that similarity, not going to grow that mustache back though.
  10. Tbt Truck Lettering

I was trained at Butera Sign School with the hand over hand technique. I do have a mahl stick and used it occaissionally when I was working over wet lettering.
  11. Tbt Truck Lettering

Think I fixed that error, still getting used to uploading pics. Yea, the old timers frowned on the tape, but then I worked for a guy who bought it by the case, he was more into getting it done than style. He was also the first shop around here that bought the original Gerber 4B.
  12. Tbt Truck Lettering

Simple lettering job on a friend's van in the early 80s. Oldtimers will note the pounce powder and yes, I was a user of the dreaded cheat -scotch tape for the top and bottom line. Also, no I'm not that tall, I was standing on my handy dandy tool box/step stool.
  13. Need Help Affixing Signs To Block Walls

VHB and Lexel will not fail
  14. Need Help Affixing Signs To Block Walls

What's not sticking? The velcro to the wall, the velcro to the sign or the velcro to itself? If the first sample worked why not go back to that? The other question is why velcro? If it doesn't have to be velcro there are other options.
  15. Need Direction On Creating 4 X 8 Ft. Changeable Letter Sign - Help!

It would actually be good to know some more details, how's it going to be used/mounted, budget etc. First I would look at pre-made ones wholesale. If that doesn't work you need to know what track and letters system you will use, they vary widely in quality/material and cost. It sounds like you...
  16. I Hate This Customer

Yea, I would get paid first, then either raise my rates to compensate for the PITA factor or tell him we're done.
  17. Gemini Markup

Their pricing includes a retail/wholesale number.
  18. Class/course On Emergency Vehicle Graphics Design/installation

Actually a lot of the police depts around here are going back to simpler black & white schemes. I was told it was to make identifying what types of vehicles are what easier. I'm glad, I never really liked cop cars looking like funny cars anyhow.
  19. Artcam Insignia Software

    Any luck with this?
  20. Removing Lettering Enamal From Bebond Panel

You could try it on a sample piece....but is it really worth it? How big is the sign? I mean, we will try it on trucks because refinishing a truck door is a little more expensive that a new 4x8 ACM panel.
