  1. Roland, 3-year outdoor durability without lamination

When we first got into the printing part of vinyl, we didn't laminate hardly anything, because we didn't have a laminator, and the big squeegee hadn't entered our life yet. They told us it was all good for at least 5 years, so we just didn't make any guarantees past that point. Today, we have...
  2. Mascots??

I'm w/ jiarby. Buy it from there. They have great stuff. Or are you wanting "free" mascot clipart. You get what you pay for.
  3. New Design for the Big Squeegee

    Was I one of them!?
  4. Underwater scene with cartoonish fish, turtles, whale, starfish, etc

If you can get a hold of John Deaton, you may be able to have him work on whatever elements you still need...but time isn't gonna be your friend on this one.
  5. New Design for the Big Squeegee

    Count me in Dale!
  6. Installation Rates, small jobs

Do you know how long I sat here trying to figure out why everyone was welcoming Scarface to the board? Then I saw...01-29-2008, 08:15 AM, and now...I'm still trying to figure out why after a year, he replied to his own thread. Nothin' wrong w/ it, was just lost for a while.
  7. Inks with 20% or more vegetable oil???

Wow. Good luck. Call Mimaki, or whoever you buy the inks from I suppose...either that, or throw the final job in some vegetable oil, and call it done. I don't have ANY idea on that. It sounds like a new concept to me.
  8. make a template for phone skins

You'd probably have to do all that yourself. If you can get a decent enough picture, and have good enough Illustrator skills, you could possibly pull it off. Depends how much you already know about it.
  9. Problems with JV3

Maybe just odd timing that your pumps went out.
  10. Lawn mower banding

If you don't get the heat worked out just right, you can also just do "directional" and only let it print in one direction, and that will help...but you may have already figured that one out since you said it does it in "bi-directional" mode.
  11. good print/cut?

You can't get a print/cut or a print for under 10K that I know of. Why would you need a cutter if you just want to do banners though?
  12. Any Decent Cheap Plotters out there?

    Good Granny...does it ever end?
  13. Cost/Sq. Ft.???

No idea. I don't even remember what the salesman tells me anymore...$.50 or $.75 I was thinkin'. I could be way wrong though. I just plug all that info into Estimate, and it figures it out for me.
  14. JV3 Trouble

My JV3 did the "Fillup" everytime I turned the printer on for about the first three months I had it. It wasted SO MUCH INK! Finally In convinced the techs that it was a problem, and that it wasn't normal for it to pump for 30 minutes each time I'd turn it on. They bought me one set of ink...
  15. JV3 Trouble

Does it want to do a fill up everytime you turn it on you mean?
  16. How many people work at your business?

Me, my wife when I need her, and for part time, it's the secretary 4 hrs. a day, and The Vector Doctor a few times a week.
  17. Think about getting into the full color sign business

Also, at a show, they will point you towards the right guy to float you the money if you are going to take out a loan.
  18. Just a few questions for the pro's here

If I were you, I wouldn't buy anything now just to lower your startup cost. I would just put that money you were going to spend in the bank, and then buy the current technology if it's a few years away. It would be a bad move I would think to have old technology right off the bat.
  19. how to run jv5 with lower resolution or less pass

I can change the passes no problem, but I'm in Onyx. I just right click on the job, go to edit, and then it's all there under the 720 settings.
  20. Motorcycle Graphics

You just need "A LAMINATOR". If you are asking what specific kind you need for vinyl...you just need anything. A Big Squeegee would work.
