bi-directional definately not aligned. confirmed if same print look good in uni-directional. have you run all alignment procedures for all combinations of fast/normal/bi/uni?

depending on sun exposure, the printed color will fade before the material fails.... noticeable after about 5years or so. unlaminated, no more than 2.

assuming that you have working parts, all you have to do is remove the pump, advance the gear slightly, and reinstall.

idk what comacell is, but if its not too heavy then 100% silicone and vhb tape should be enough. no point in putting holes in a perfectly good wall unless you need to.

lam too soon = mushy graphic to apply. be fighting wrinkles allday. also, playing around when we first got the printer, we did print/cut/fullcoverage and pulled laminate off with the premask.

Delamination is a first for us, however. Shy of some of our printables, we're 3M across the board, and never this issue for the twenty years I've been here. So its really odd that the only common variable in this new material that is failing, amongst 8/60 lines of copy, 5/14 different signs...

outgas? yes. first and last time we didn't wait for paint to outgas prior to application (matthews acrylic polymer) , resulted in bubbling of the reflective graphics within an hour or two of application. 3M prespacing tape? no. I don't even think any of our suppliers offer 3M transfer tape...

best guess would be salt from the roads, splashed onto the sign face during the winter months? (only failing graphics happen to be street-side, and facing oncoming traffic) I've replaced one entire face and all other failing graphics on this particular campus with the 5100R, and another face...

+1 to applying prior to vacuum-forming, but hindsight is 20/20. i do like the idea of "heating and dipping", as Border stated, like i've done for helmets with 180Cv3... but at that scale, yikes!, and could be a pain with trans.vinyl print. I wish I had that task, for a reason to try, but...

you're best bet is the seamed panel... can make it out of 1-4x8sheet, even. I've also been known to do oversized MDO, by using twice as many sheets of 1/2 thickness of the desired product, and stagger the seams in the two layers before screwing/bonding together. most of the time, however, I...
