  1. SP540V Linear Calibration

There is a little sensor under the platen that reads if material is loaded. It will look like a hole in the platen towards the right of the machine looking from the front. Check to make sure it isn't covered in vinyl or something else that wouldn't allow light in.
  2. Roland SC-545 EX print colour issue

You don't have the correct color ink going to the proper head. Your test print should go C,M,Y,K,LM,LC.
  3. Problems printing with Flexi 10 on a Roland VP-300

You are using Flexi in Demo Mode. You need to go to the install manager and enter the password for the software to take it out of demo mode. Usually the install manager is in the windows start menu under programs and in the SAI Production Suite folder.
  4. Replaced Sub Tank Valves on VJ1604 Sub tanks not refilling.

When it says "Subtanks refilling" the pump should cycle for a little bit and then it sits there for a while to let the bags fill up. If it never stops doing that, there could be a an air leak between the valves and the ink line. I've never changed a valve on that machine. Is there an o-ring...
  5. Ink gets sucked back into cartridge??

If you didn't change the o-rings when you changed the damper, I would change those first and see what happens. The dampers keep the ink from flowing back to the cartridge. If there is an air leak, the ink acts like there is no damper and the o-ring is usually the point where air leaks occur...
  6. Metallic camo heat transfer

Specialty Materials has solvent printable silver, glitter, and reflective. You could print the camo pattern on one of those and heat transfer after. If your interested, give us a call. We are a Specialty Materials dealer and can drop ship directly to you. 303-733-6671
  7. CG-130FX cutting poorly

In that case, the blade is the first item I would change and make sure its the 60 degree blade. Also, check your cut strip. Does it have a deep groove going down the middle? Since you using the half cut feature, I would assume so. That could be causing the blade to bounce irregularly which may...
  8. CG-130FX cutting poorly

What kind of material are you cutting? It looks like card stock. These machines are not built to cut card stock which might be your problem.
  9. sp300 v Pump Question

+1 Also the new style pump is much more reliable.
  10. Black in my Magenta JV33-160

Your cap top, tubes or pump may be clogged causing the ink to stay too long in the cap top and sticking to the bottom of the head. After running a cleaning cycle, take a look at the cap top. Is there ink pooled up in it?
  11. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Overload condition in CR motor

No problem! It could definitely be the belt. They just wear out over time. You may have also just tightened it too much. Play around for a little to see if you can get it going. I'd start with the belt before moving on to the motor. In 5 years I have never personally experienced a motor failing...
  12. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Overload condition in CR motor

The CR motor connects to a speed reduction belt which connects to the steel belt driver. On older machines I have seen the tension between the speed reduction belt and motor become loose which causes it to spin out. This causes the head to shutter and the machine thinks the motor is freaking...
  13. Where to purchase a jv33 head

You might have a failing damper as well. Usually when ink is dropping on the print you either have a bad damper or there is an "inkcicle" forming on the bottom of the head because of dust/hair build up which causes ink to build up and fall while the head is moving back and forth.
  14. Yellow ink cartridges emptied out on the floor!

When you replaced the pump make sure the waste ink lines do not drop so low into the tank that they become submerged. This causes a syphon and will drain the system.
  15. Soljet Head

+1 Roland is by far the most straight forward when it comes to aligning these multi-head machines. Once the mechanical adjustments are done, the electric adjustments are a breeze. Patience is definitely your friend.
  16. Seriously need mimaki tech/experienced opinion

There are conflicting opinions on this matter. Some say the head ID sets voltages and fine tunes the head and some say the head ID is just a serial number for the head which resets the fire count. I believe it is just a serial number as I have installed heads both ways and have seen no...
  17. Mimaki jv3 160s or sp media comp

If you have a darker line you want to add to the current adjustment figure. You want the dark line to go away without creating a white line/gap. Here is a representation of how it should look:
  18. Mimaki jv3 160s or sp media comp

You want the two light gray lines to match up so that there is no distinguishable transition between the two as if only one line was printed. Through the loupe and the naked eye, you shouldn't be able to tell that two separate lines were printed.
  19. Window perf...... to laminate or not?

I believe the general consensus is to laminate. It's easier to install and when it rains the water doesn't get caught in the holes and render the "view thru" features useless.
  20. Mutoh 1204 fails and error after about a foot of printing.

There are many Error 16s and they all are main board issues. Your particular one is about data storage but it could mean the processor is failing as well. I would get to the main board and take the memory out. Use compressed air to blow out dust from the memory terminal on the board. Dust off...
