  1. Advise Please .....

I live in a small town in Indiana. Our business has been opened for 26 years now, and I just purchased it last year. Right off the bat, I saw the advantages of a printer, and plotter. I bought one, but, it was really a crunch at first until customers found out what I was able to do with it...
  2. Print to Cut, and actually cutting correctly.

My prints aren't laminated. I haven't gotten the laminator yet, so it's just sprayed on. Shouldn't be any stretching involved. I guess I don't know much about the functions of the plotter, I'll check into making them bigger.
  3. .plt to .eps conversion

I've been asking a lot of questions lately, but I'm new here, and I can't believe how much I've learned in the past few days. Anyway, when I bought the current sign business I own, I was given an old Gerber Plotter, running on Windows 95, and designs were being done using "composer". Cutting...
  4. Does Mamaki Print Greys?

On my Mimaki, I have to sometimes tweak the greys, or turn the ICC Profiles off or on, whatever the opposite is. The sucky thing is, sometimes you can't always tell how it's gonna print till' your half done w/ the job, and you get to the grey part. I had a huge banner print green instead, but...
  5. ading a cut path to image in illustrator??

Finecut is the way to go if you have something complex to cut out, and you can have a bit of white around it. For doing cutout's of people or animals, or basically anything I guess, it makes it a snap.
  6. Hello & Goodbye

I'm not sure. Not sure why, but I have a feeling I went to school w/ a kid that reminds me of this situation. His common phrase was..."My dad's got a bigger gun than your dad!"
  7. Print to Cut, and actually cutting correctly.

I have contacted the vendor. It doesn't do horrible...but it's off just enough that sometimes you'll have a very fine line of white around the outside of it, where it wasn't printed. They have basically told me that anything over like 6 ft. that it won't do EXACT. I was just wondering if that...
  8. Print to Cut, and actually cutting correctly.

I've never really been able to cut correctly on anything that's over about 3ft. tall on my vinyl. I constantly have to make my outlines thicker or something like that, so that you really don't know that the cutter isn't cutting it 100% straight. It's really a pain in the butt for vehicle...
  9. Where do you get rid of your waste ink?

I've got 3 old gallon containers of what Application Fluid came in...I never have really thought about where to put them...I just figured I'd start a pyramid w/ them. I'm glad you brought up the subject.
