    What you may want to try is to hook a syringe up to the black going to the head and try sucking and see if that free it. Or place some cleaning solution on the capping station on a lint free towel a couple of time and try the cleaning cycle after that.

    The only down side to the Summa thermal printers are that Summa is the only supplier for ribbons! Also they have less spot color selection than the Gerber! I have been looking at them also but waiting to see if Zero-nine or Duracoat comes out with foils.

    As ISign said either use White-gray-white or white-silver-white! If you use anything darker than Gray you will need to hit the white twice on both sides!

    I agree with bob! It also could be caused by vinyl adhesive on blade holder bearing, try cleaning it and re-oiling the bearing.
