What they said
Warm the head first and keep the media clean.
Occasionally you will get a little imperfection in the vinyl that will leave a dot too.
Depending on the color & the use it's possible to touch up with a sharpie
Yep, since there are already a lot of holes check them out, or drill one yourself to see.
Even though it's a circle I would probably use some clips mounted to the wall.
The other alternative would be studs
OK, I just noticed a few things. That had to be made for them, the neon housings line up perfect.
Two, it's not a can, it's just a face? So what does the other side look like?
I tried it when we first got our Edge.
Never liked running it through the Edge or the plotter.
We've always just printed on white vinyl applied to magnum magnet & cut by hand.
If it's a large quantity I guess I'd try running it in the Edge/plotter again.
I believe they made two versions of the...
That sign looks older than '61, maybe it was reused back then.
The old school technique for a cheap repaint on something like that was to scrape any loose paint,
lightly sand and then clean it well. Paint the white letters and then cut in the black background.
Would've been done on site in a few...
First, that is a really nice classic sign, bordering on antique status.
Repainting it would be a shame.
For the close to the same money as ruining that sign you could you could make a new single face sign that copies that design.
Then (though they sound too cheap to do it) have new neon made...
Very nice
...and if that's what you're trying to paint with a mask you may try doing it by hand.
The beauty of painting carved letters is you just wipe mistakes off to the edge.
Yes you can. It used to be common for a small shop to do all types of different work. One of the suggestions you hear a lot is to keep your prices high and build on your customer service, that would be even more true if you try to do all those things.
I did a sign like that with some custom welded brackets.
One top & bottom. With an angle that the sign bolted to.
The big advantage was I had the mounting plate made pretty large about 12"x12".
This gave me 4 bolts per bracket to fasten to the building.
That building was brick, but old brick. I...
For a sign that big I would probably do a fixed install with two brackets and maybe an additional fixed anchor point in the middle.
Like Gino said guy wires are old school but work.
No ouch, someone made an assumption that this was a logo we designed. Not that I have a problem with the symbol, it's nothing special,
but it's not bad. It's a sign we made, so I can take the blame for the design but at least it's not an eye catcher.
And by the way I'm glad someone actually...
Both of my main suppliers (Garston & Hart) manage to deliver coro in good condition, no matter how many I order.
If the material looks like that it's not usable, calendered vinyl is cheap too, but you should still be able to use it.
It's like 3 pieces of clipart on an indistinguishable background, just really boring. The designs Rick suggested ( especially the top left one) had a dynamic look that reflects the sport. If you showed anything like those to the client and this is what they insist on, fine, their money is green...
