I'll ask, but I don't think they do that. And since they already quoted the job knowing that is was one sign in two pieces from a single sheet I think they would have offered/suggested that option were it available.
I sub the routing, so that's not available.
I could also sub it to a wholesale sign carver, but it's more profitable to do everything but the routing in house.

I never liked carving in HDU, the grit that gets on everything sucks.
Plus you don't have the nice smell of wood.
But wood is definitely more challenging, learning to work with the grain.

This place has them for $2 less and in black. I don't think the price is bad, I'd just add for assembly and mark it up. The client can decide if they want it or not.
