  1. Printable Magnetic material any good?

I tried it in our Roland, also did not like the .020. Had to watch it like a hawk for tunneling/headstrikes and I found the print quality to be pretty poor.
  2. Font ID - Emergency Contact

ITC Officiana Serif ...either medium or bold weight I think. On my phone so it's hard to make a direct comparison.
  3. 3M 8518 lam issue

On a semi-related note, 3M seems to have recently made the backing thinner, so the rolls are 10 lbs lighter and the roll appears smaller, though it's actually now 54 yards instead 50.
  4. Looking for some advice.

I'm not as familiar with print shops, but your yearly gross sales sounds a little low (roughly $325/day) as compared with the typical 1 man full time sign shop. Do you have time to sell more signs and run the equipment or would you have to hire help? That equipment is very capable in the right...
  5. Recent Projections I did

Looks decent, remember to watch your negative space & contrast. How come the tub was so high? Kinda seems floating a bit.
  6. 3M 8518 lam issue

Are you sure it wasn't like that right out of the laminator? Sometimes the end of the rolls get kind of mottled looking. Also, If I have to roll any kind of digital print that has been masked, it has to be a really loose roll, like 18" diameter or you risk wrinkling/tunneling
  7. Glow in the Dark Vinyl

I have solvent printed on GerberGlow. Came out alright. Colors will be off and heavy coverage bands a bit.
  8. Gerber test print

I would make an 11.5" square filled with a gradient 0% - 100% and run it through both horizontally and verticaly. Check to make sure the color transition is smooth with no dark areas of banding.
  9. Oracal 970ra High Gloss

    +1 this
  10. Clean Cut Blade Signs 101 Discount Code?

  11. High dollar decals

I replaced the lettering and stripes on this one for around $1200. No safety decals but it did include about 5 hours travel. (they did the removal) The view is nice when they send me up the mountains to do these cranes at windmill construction sites.
  12. Chrome?

Yep, knowing Avery it's released right onto the shop floor. :toasting:
  13. Dave Drane...

He was a great guy and I always looked forward to seeing what he had to say. What a terrible loss. Our condolences to his family, friends, and community.
  14. Like Wrapping with a Hot Trash Bag

Recommmend more airflow for drying. Somewhere there is a thread with directions on how to put together a couple of buckets & fans for airflow when space is limited. Also 75-80 install temp seems a little warm.
  15. Right and wrong

You might be new in town, but you want to conduct business in a manner that garners respect. Being kind of a pushover is not going to help land the good clients. Give good service, and back it up by charging for it. I would have offered to make adjustments to the design for a reasonable...
  16. DC-3 Plane with Earth with a can sign with Raised letters.

Outstanding! I hope they can get insurance to cover that, in case of accidents.
  17. Large format scanning

We are around $6/sq ft but yeah dont do it much...
  18. Contour Cut turning grey instead of pink?

Check files for transparencies, vw does not play well with them.
  19. Need a Font ID

Yeah what they said. Does look custom as same characters are not exact matches.
  20. Font ID

Helvetica extra light might be close enough
