  1. News Grimco changes pricing!

Just today, I had a guy tell me that very same thing. He said, we've been in business for almost 30 years and we just don't do that. I said, fine. I've been in business 47 years and I've bailed lotsa people out. Thanks a lot.
  2. Suggestions 2mm 4'x8' Sheets of translucent boards

They make a rigid header board which is about .030 or so , but it has a slight texture to prevent glaring. It's good for long gradual bends like you pictured.
  3. Suggestions 2mm 4'x8' Sheets of translucent boards

Does it or could it have a slight texture ??
  4. Suggestions what thickness acrylic to use?

Could you just heat bend a 92º base and have it go back til it doesn't fall ?? Then, flame all the edges.
  5. Suggestions what thickness acrylic to use?

How many do you need to make ?? edit: I like "B".
  6. News Grimco changes pricing!

Sounds like many here are the pot calling the kettle black. How many threads are about saving pennies on inks, on substrates, on vinyls, on equipment, on just about everything, but then wanna get top buck and always price checking using the excuse.... they don't wanna leave anything on the table ??
  7. H1625 FLATBED - WON'T PRINT - NO ERRORS

    I just like happy endings.
  8. edge capping for shaped sign

Vinyl carefully wrapped around to both sides. Won't last very long, but it will look nice for a while.
  9. Now that you're done blowing leaves...

I wish SignManiac could've seen this........................
  10. Adhesive in cold weather

Ikarasu brings up a good point. You wanna instal these things, when the walls and signs are in their almost completely contracted phase, due to the cold, which it will only get colder. Come warm weather and the stuff wants to expand....... are these tapes and glues that giving ?? Aluminum...
  11. Adhesive in cold weather

I hafta agree with kcollins...... You want a double sided tape to adhere to bare aluminum and then to paint. Sure it will work, but I would not wanna put my signature on something the customer demanded like that. Customers can request colors, layouts and designs, but not installations...
  12. Electric Trimmers?

    More than a hedger
  13. Electric Trimmers?

I just bought a Worx Trimmer & Cutter, this afternoon. It'll be here Friday.
  14. cutting 3/16" acrylic

If it's just straight cuts.... or easy ones, just use a palm router.
  15. Your stuff aint that safe in your truck...

So, just get a good locksmith out there and come up with some kinda good security set up. Our one truck was used when we bought it and a document shredding company had the locks totally re-done. I've never seen a lock mechanism or key like it and if you don't have this key, you won't get in...
  16. Warping of material - but only half of it?

Give it lotsa slack. You didn't state the size of this print, but it sounds like you're creating too much tension.
  17. Wind load on wall mount channel letters???

You're gonna have more shear weight load from pigeon guano than wind. Don't forget the spikes on the top. Sealed drawings are a necessity on just about anything, these days. We're doing some signs on a building, which are replacing some existing 6/4" wooden signs with 6mm ACM and they wanna...
  18. Thanks to Texas_Signmaker!

    I like happy endings. :clapping:
  19. making a double sided stop sign

Or just take two exactly the same size squares, turn one 45º and use your pathfinder and expand tool. It would take about 4 seconds..... without using a calculator.
  20. question for my sign bretheren and sisteren

The only thing I can think of is an actual human being. It doesn't use any registration marks.... or just ignores them and uses his eye to the best of his/her ability. Practice makes perfect. The materials will determine what tool he/she places in their hand(s).
