If your test print looks good with no deflecting nozzles, you definitely have an electronic issue with the head, cables or one of the boards deeper in the machine. It also looks like your bi-directional alignment is off.
You could so a cable swap to isolate if it is the head or something...
Upload some pictures. If everything is clean and the cables are good, it could be alignment issues or the head is just fried. It is easier to tell with pictures.
Does the actual vinyl skew or just the image? If the image skews and not the vinyl and you are getting phantom paper jam errors, you most likely need to change/clean the encoder strip and/or sensor. If the material is skewing, I would check into some new pinch rollers or try to get rid of any...
I would start by checking the print head cables. Make sure they are seated properly in the terminal and that there is no ink or debris on them. Make sure the chrome piece of metal surrounding the bottom of the print head is as clean as possible. Other than that it could be the head failing. Are...
Are you using a USB connection by chance? If you are, change over to an Ethernet connection. If you are using Ethernet already try another cable. Are you getting any error messages?
I would start by cleaning the sensor with some rubbing alcohol and then run a sensor sensitivity calibration. If you do that and it still doesn't work, I would say the sensor is going bad or there is a software issue.
After Bordeaux stopped making the 220mL cartridges for Roland printers we have had many customers ask when they will be coming back. We special ordered a run of 220mL cartridges and they are in stock now for only $49.95ea.! Solventinkjet.com is the only vendor offering the 220mL cartridges and...
The 1324 has what people are calling the DX6 head. It is two generations newer than the DX4 head and a far better technology. I agree with Artbot completely on this one. The DX4 heads are antiques compared with the newer generations. If you want to save yourself a lot of headaches in the future...
We have 4 rolls of Arlon 54" Calendared Satin Finish Laminate that are currently overstocked. These are brand new rolls and we ship from Denver. Each roll is $159 + shipping. Call 303-733-6671 or PM me if you're interested.
I would upgrade to the Valuejet. It is a far better machine speed and maintenance wise. Also, Mimaki will be discontinuing support and parts for the JV3s in September. You will still be able to get common parts like heads and dampers but other parts will be hard to find eventually.
I have ink level sensors in stock for $16 plus shipping. You shouldn't need the ink chip reader if it recognizes the cartridge already. The only problem is that the machine has already noted in it's memory that the chip on that cartridge is empty so you will need another chip as well. I also...
I would start with the cap top. We have them for $65 on our site, Solventinkjet.com. Cap tops can be very sensitive. Since the machine was already inked up when you saw it, the cap top could have been working just well enough to keep the ink flowing but now that you had to ink it up again the...
If the machine had a hard time filling up it is most likely the maintenance station that is failing. You could change the cap top first to see if that is just the issue.
Also, your dampers should be about half full give or take. Check the ink line for air bubbles. Even one tiny bubble will...
People on Signs101 know I am a big fan of the CJV30 over the Rolands but in this case, you are going to be hard pressed to find 24"(CJV30-60) material for printing. 30"(SP300i) is a common size and widely available. That being said you could probably find a CJV30-130 for just a little more cost...
Definitely check your ink lines by taking the head carriage cover off. The lines should be solid colors with not even a small amount of air in them. The dampers should be about half full. If there is air in the lines, the damper is failing or the o-ring between the ink line and damper is...
We will need a little more information. Can you upload pictures of the issue? What does your nozzle check look like? How old is the maintenance station and head? Are you using a bulk system or cartridges?
Normally the culprits of drop out are dampers/o-rings and maintenance station but I have...
I agree with wildside but if the customer insists on going with the cheaper vinyl, my customers have had success with the Arlon DPF4560GTX and a Cast laminate like Arlon 3220. The laminate stabilizes the calendared vinyl and protects the print. This combination can be used on flat surface's and...
