Here is a link to the spittoon sponge to the left of the capping station: Spittoon Sponge
Here is a link to the capping station for that machine: Capping Station
The capping station sponge is not sold anywhere and only comes with the station. The capping station is a lot cheaper than the whole...

Also make sure to clean the chrome metal that surrounds the bottom of the print head. It is there to move static away from the electronics of the print head. If there is a lot of ink build up, it impedes that ability.
If you are only using 2 pinch rollers that is true. If you use a third in the middle, that is where you lose some material. If your machine does not run cleaning cycles without media in it, there is something wrong with the machine. Take your media out and try to run a cleaning cycle. It should...
You don't want to leave the clamp down for two reasons. 1. The pinch rollers do get flattened out on one side when you leave them down and not rolling. 2. It leaves marks in the vinyl so you lose that part of the vinyl. It will still run cleaning cycles without any media in it.
You already have everything you need to run your shop. I think you would be throwing money away getting Flexi. Not because Flexi is a bad choice but just because you don't need it. The version of Flexi you are going to need to run all of your machines is going to be in the $2000 range unless...
Most likely the solenoid fried. Take a good look around the cut head. You might see a burn mark around the part that looks like an electromagnet or you might have smelt it at some point. Someone on Signs101 might have a better way to test if it is fried. Usually you will need to replace the...
Check your blade holder to make sure the blade isn't being pushed up into the holder when pressure is put on the blade. If you watch the blade as it cuts and it just doesn't push down at all, your cut solenoid could be fried or something is interrupting the signal to the cutter head.
I don't have a lot of experience with running the 3 head machines on the 4 color mode. One thing I do know is that running these print heads without ink in them fries them fairly quickly. Running solution through may help but it is not as good as having ink in the head. Ink acts as a coolant for...
10 mil is right at the edge of acceptable vinyl thickness for that machine. The weight will definitely affect the accuracy of the cut. Try rolling out the material before you cut it to give it less tension. Also, you could try changing the pinch rollers but it's not a guarantee it will help...
Definitely check the IP addresses. The first three numbers of the IP address should be the same on the computers and the printers. I.E 192.168.1. The last number should be different on all of the computers and printers. I.E Computer 1: 192.168.1.10, Computer 2: 192.168.1.11 etc. Otherwise I...
Try changing the setting in your RIP. It should be an option in the profile section or printer settings section. You probably have the printer set up to revert to the computer rather than have the machine override the computer settings.
With the machine unplugged and discharged of any residual electric charge, double check that you have the head cables in properly. Check the leads on the cables for any broken, bent or burnt leads. Make sure the leads a pointing in the right direction and completely set straight down in the...
It shouldn't affect your head being able to line up with the capping station. The screw only adjusts the head slightly and not enough for it to be off enough to cause deflection. It could be time for a new head. How old is it?
Unplug the machine and hit the power button to discharge any residual charge. Take the back platen off the machine. The main board is going to be on the left side of the machine. Take out the memory (under a small fan) and clean just the contacts, not the whole circuit board, with alcohol. Allow...
It depends on what kind of deal you are getting. The SP300i is a great machine and, as a tech, one of my favorite machines to work on. They are reliable and get the job done. That being said, most of the time you can get a Mimaki CJV30 54" for about the same money. The Mimaki uses newer head...
