  1. Roland Cleaning Cartridge How Long Lasting?

How are you using the cleaning cartridge? Normal use would not require you to use it 3 months after the printer is running. Most users don't use them unless they are moving or storing the printer. Very rarely you should be flushing the system completely.
  2. Mimaki jv33 banding like someone is taking a miniature rake through it

+1 Also, it looks like the media comp adjustment is slightly too close causing some overlap between passes. Is this new material you are printing on or have you used it before?
  3. CJV 30 160 white issues

Yes, Open the valve for the line you want to fill and then use a syringe to pull the ink down into the damper. Once it is in the damper, one cleaning cycle should pull it into the head.
  4. JV-33 USB issue

It does sound like the board is broken. Take the cover off and make sure that the USB connection on the board is still solidly soldered on the board. It may be as simple as re soldering it. It could also be a deeper electrical issue with the board. You can pay to have it diagnosed and fixed by...
  5. CJV 30 160 white issues

On the CJV in order to pull ink manually through the lines you have to open the ink cartridge valve in the back. If you take the cover off the ink cartridge holder you will see the valves on the back of each cartridge assembly. Open the white channel valve that you need to pull ink through and...
  6. JV3 - Cyan complete band missing in the middle, cant get back to full test draw?

Check the bottom of the head to see if there are scratch marks in the middle. JV3s have an issue when the capping station gets older and the plastic begins to warp. When the plastic warps the screws holding the capping station together are exposed more and pushed up allowing them to scrape the...
  7. JV-33 USB issue

Also try re-installing the Mimaki USB driver. It has worked for me in the past. Does the computer recognize the printer by making a sound or a pop-up in the lower left corner when you plug the USB in?
  8. Mutoh 1204 banding/drop out

I would wet the cap top with some cleaning solution to see if that helps it seal better before I do a cleaning. Also, judging by the green square in the picture above, it looks like your manifold may be partially clogged. I have seen that exact problem happen a couple of times and I ended up...
  9. What's the deal?

We have the black ones on solventinkjet.com for 2 for $10.
  10. Mutoh 1204 banding/drop out

If you changed the dampers and are not getting any ink flow now, your cap top is probably bad. That could also explain why you had the drop out in the first place. I would replace the cap top and make sure the pump is not clogged by pushing cleaning fluid through it. It should flow easily into...
  11. Color Profiles exporting to .eps

Can you show us an example via a picture? Do you save your file in RGB mode or CMYK? Because that can make a difference. Is color correction turned on in Flexi?
  12. VersaArt RS-640 Trouble every 3-4 months

I agree that it sounds like an environment issue. Before replacing the encoder strip next time, go into the service mode and do the encoder setup and calibration and then in user mode do the environmental match. If this fixes it, it means that your environment changes throughout the year in...
  13. Mimaki CJV30-100

If when you do the media comp alignment one side looks good but the other doesn't, most likely the print head slant adjustment is off. This is a physical alignment that normally is done during installation. You can do the alignment your self but you will need a loupe (kind of like a magnifying...
  14. VS 540 Print alignment issue

If it happens in all of your files/more than one, check to make sure your head cables are connected properly. Also, even though it does not look like a classic encoder strip issue, clean the encoder strip regardless if you see any ink on it. Other than that it could be a failing head, trailing...
  15. Color printhead for falcon outdoor jr.

I hear ya. Unfortunately the prices on those heads have been rising because Epson, who manufactures the heads, is getting ready to discontinue making them. I wouldn't be surprised that by the end of the year you can't find most parts for those machines that aren't used.
  16. Roland CAM-500 cutting issues

My best guess is the solenoid is shot. Make sure all of the connections to the cutter head are still in place and not loose.
  17. 1614 splatters

What about your cap top? Does it drain properly after a cleaning cycle or is there still ink sitting in it? Also check the spittoon sponge to the left of the capping and wiper area. Is it swelling up over it's holder where it might be barely touching the head as it goes by?
  18. 1614 splatters

Did they tell you to look at the bottom of the head and clean anything that might be collecting there? It looks like ink is dropping from something and not from the heads. In that case it is usually lint, dust or hair allowing an "inkcicle" to form and cause the ink to drop off the head.
  19. Yellow printing orange

Also check to see if your magenta/yellow cap top is draining properly. It could just be that the ink is sitting in the cap and the head is siphoning the magenta into the yellow.
  20. mimaki jv5 160s head problems

To my knowledge you can only get an OEM head for that machine. The JV33 and JV5 have the same head. We have that head on our site. Here is a link: JV5 Print Head As far as your carriage issue goes, it is hard to tell what might be going on. I would check to see if the head is installed...
