If I were you I would get a tech manual and do both the encoder strip calibrations and environmental match. Then I would do the service menu print/cut adjustment. If that doesn't do it I would call in a tech.

I haven't seen anyone suggest this yet on this post. Make sure you actually have ink flowing to the heads. If any of your dampers are empty it will cause a head heat error as well.

Don't go changing your main board just yet. This is a common problem in Mutohs. The head lock mechanism gets bent after time and the solenoid can't reach the lock to un-lock it. Tape the lock down and try to run the printer again. It may be as simple as replacing the lock mechanism.

Are you leaving the print head height on high when your not using it maybe? I agree with Circleville and Bigcat the head ins't sealing properly or you are leaving the head in high mode which is causing the nozzles to dry up. Go use that warranty.

Yeah it looks pretty bad. Try running a print with the cover off. If it prints normally then I would just replace the shielding. If it still has the same problem I would replace the entire cable/shielding assembly.

The issue is purely a bad electronic signal. The encoder would not cause the issue you are having. If you checked the connections of all the head cables and CR cables and they look good, it has to be the head, the mainboard, or the CR cables/plastic shielding.

Check the encoder strip for damage or ink splatter. I would clean it with some rubbing alcohol just to be safe. Other than that it could be an electronic malfunction but I would definitely start with the encoder strip.
