  1. How to add braille to ACM signs?

I'm sure our resident expert will chime in (one of the great things about this site is the knowledge of it's members), but I doubt they are required to have braille on those signs. If they want it, fine, just add the cost and stick them on.
  2. Does anyone know where to get these banner hangers?

    I think Outwater has similar
  3. "Carved " Fonts

I can't believe I'm having such a hard time finding these types of fonts. I'm looking for a font, classic serif style, that has a "carved" look. I have Clarendon Convex, which has the perfect effect, but is a little too heavy and square. I also have Augustea Open and Academy Engraved which are...
  4. Anyone's notice this on Signarama webpage

That the photo is on their website tells me the customer was happy....
  5. Roll-up display without center pole?

Testrite has some that are double pole, the wider ones , like 4'. Not cheap but really good quality, and American made
  6. Why do designers really not understand us sign people?

That's true, but they should be able to provide clean files that are capable of being set up without having to spend a lot of time getting rid of garbage that is "hidden".
  7. Why do designers really not understand us sign people?

I do. Part of their job is to provide files in the appropriate format for the output. Or at the minimum, provide the file type asked for. I had a big shot NYC designer who couldn't get why I wanted him to convert the text to vector. He spent more time complaining than it would have taken to do it.
  8. Why do designers really not understand us sign people?

But it looks great on my monitor
  9. Pricing a School Bus

Too low....sometimes it's about the value of the job not just the time & materials.
  10. Polished Stainless Refurbishment

If you have any concerns about being able to do this I would get a price from a metal polishing shop. There is usually one that does this type of work for a lot of different businesses
  11. Request advice from sign and display professionals

1000 s/f? That's a good size space. Your questions are way too vague. You need to do your research. It's obvious you have no experience.
  12. Request advice from sign and display professionals

You need to narrow down your options and provide more info before asking for advice. For instance...will any of these products be used outside? You say you're going to work out of your home, what kind of space do you have? What kind of budget do you have? What machines and service providers do...
  13. Advice for cutting 160 Banners and 300 posters monthly

Are they hemmed? If just flat, hire someone part time to cut them.
  14. Anyone letter on galvanized metal?

Back in the day I did the vinegar wipe to prep it, and used a primer called "GalvaGrip" by Sherwin Williams then painted.
  15. Any body here do this?

Of course the one person that didn't get acknowledged in the credits is the sign guy. I used to do a lot of late models, usually the week before the opening day while they were tuning it or some other project that made working difficult. But it was fun, there was lots of artistic freedom and...
  16. Wood rot

5 years...I know I'd want to make it right, but really it isn't your fault. If it was a $500k house and the same thing happened I bet the builder wouldn't even think twice about being responsible for termite damage, or even for rot in a frame. Not as long as everything was built to code/industry...
  17. painting vs. printing

Yep, depends on the design. Even if it's a high end long term sign it may require digital prints, they just need to know they will have to be replaced
  18. Blue reflective Chevron tape for hazmat trailer?

    Try American Sign Products
  19. Bracket/hardware for ceiling mounted signs?

I think the ones i the pic are the ones Gino is showing, but the other type is also good. The corners are pretty heavy duty though and if cost (not looks) is a concern they may be cheaper.
  20. Will there be a Omega 6.0?

Such a shame, but they have no one to blame but themselves. There machines invented computerized sign making. And they made great machines, their plotters and the Edge are some of the best stuff ever built. I still like Omega for sign design, some of it's design capabilities can't be beat. But...
