ADDENDUM:
Yesterday I had to reload Flexi and the problem returned. But I realize I checked the box that says Print while Ripping (worked well on a previous software I had). So it seems the core problem is that: Don't print while ripping.
Yup.. That looks like what I had but that one is newer. Pretty sure they used to be call ioline. They were pen plotters converted to be used to cut vinyl. You can find software to run it. I can't remember what I used but do a search on google and you're sure to find something fairly...
I think the Mutoh has different markings than Roland but I used trial and error on smaller prints to find what to line up the cutting blade to. In my case there was a crosshatch type of marking that I used.
I've had the same problem using VM with different machines. I was using a Roland SC540 print and cut and it was doing similar things. Finally gave up and lined it up manually. I've seen others with the same complaint. I personally think it's the VM software.
Actually it doesn't work that way at all.
The only real difference is the software is authenticated online. Everything is including ripping is done on the local machine.
Thanks Canuck.
It's an equal opportunity problem. Happens with many different files . Not all the time and Not all the same kind of file. I just printed a billboard and a few other things and they were fine.
Rob
and this is after a thorough encoder strip cleaning ( and this is a clean machine to start with).
Again .. near the end of a print. This was a jpg imported from CorelDraw
I tend to agree. The error is too clinical. I've had many encoder strip problems over the years but for the sake of abundance of caution I did a thorough cleaning today as well as changing my ethernet cable from cat5e to cat6. Problem still persists.
My spider senses are telling me software...
I believe my very first plotter in the 80's was a technoarts plotter. I believe it had a hot tip which i later updated to a swivel knife. Can you send pics?
You might have something there. It doesn't happen on all files and It's been a mixed bag lately.
The last file that was shown was a vector image over a bitmap. I will do some tests. Thx
