  1. Epson Gs6000

I could use a motherboard. How much would you want for that?
  2. Multithreading for JAWS in Postershop- wah wah wahhhhh

No dice. It's just a single threaded process. The new machine cut a third off the time, but it's only because each processor is faster than each of those in my AMD Phenom quad. Oh well.
  3. Multithreading for JAWS in Postershop- wah wah wahhhhh

So we installed a new server with 8 cores and I put the free Windows Hyper V Server 2012 on there and virtualized our old server onto it. I got to thinking it would be nice to speed up rips for complex files, so I installed Win7/64 on there and assigned it 8 cores and 6 gig of memory, only to...
  4. Surecolor S70670 colors bleeding

The picture looks fuzzy, so it's hard to tell how much bleeding is going on. But I'll take your word for it. Try reducing your head height in the material setup. When the head is higher the edges are not as crisp.
  5. Epson Sure Color Printer S70670

The other thing I found disappointing is the white prime feature. If you're printing full color on clear and you need a white prime there are two ways you can go about it. You either babysit or you don't. On a small run you use the two green "high tension" rollers which are placed near the...
  6. Epson Sure Color Printer S70670

It makes very pretty prints on slow setting, and all settings including the slow one are faster than the GS6000. Some tones are improved with the new ink set but the GS6000 was pretty good already. So those prints are beautiful, but running 8 pass you need to keep an eye on it. It's...
  7. Epson S70 Printing White (Multi-Layer Printing) Advice

I did find a workaround, of sorts. You disable the multi-layer printing and force it to do the white prime and color at once. It prints painfully slow, but you get perfect registration, and not having to rewind the paper means you can use the regular pinch wheels. But multi-layer is still jacked.
  8. Epson S70 Printing White (Multi-Layer Printing) Advice

It does have a fully reversing takeup system. The feed system also reverses to take up slack automatically. When it prepares the media after you lower the bail arm, it shuffles back and forth several times. In the various print mode settings you only choose the rewind speed. I do not see a...
  9. Epson S70 Printing White (Multi-Layer Printing) Advice

Does anyone have an overview of the white printing process? I'm having some issues. I have the Gamma Print RIP that is included with the machine. They give you several profiles for white printing and I chose the multi-layer one where it prints the white then backs up and prints the color...
  10. Weird Epson behavior.....

I've had weird dropouts with Colorburst on the GS6000 - usually truncations and not corruption like that. In my case it was usually the eps file boundaries being smaller than all the objects it contains. I've had some similar issues with Onyx and the S70, but it was because I had downloaded a...
  11. Free Epson GS6000 to a good home...

    The printer is gone.
  12. Free Epson GS6000 to a good home...

I'm also hanging onto the crate and cardboard from the new one, so as long as you can haul a box with a footprint 44"x125" and standing 42" tall you're good to go. Well, the take up reel is going eat up some more space, perhaps. Not sure how it would all break down, but I bet it would all go...
  13. Free Epson GS6000 to a good home...

Wag'n Tails Mobile Conversions 12633 Heather Park Drive Granger, IN 46530 We're about to finish the installation of our new Epson S70 and we took the $4000 bribe from Epson to surrender the motherboard on our old printer. So it will not print any longer, but it's in great shape right now...
  14. Epson Stylus GS6000 Black Not Printing?

I'm having this issue as well, but at a very small level. Only a couple small errors on my nozzle check and you can only see a pattern in the print a little at the 720x720 setting. I suspect enough cleaning will flush out a bubble. It's my understanding that the cleaning is nothing but...
  15. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

Epson did me right too. They swapped my main board and all the ink values went to 100%. The phone jockey was not following me at first. He saw no problem with me purchasing a complete ink set so that when the machine blindly runs out of each one I would have a replacement. I asked if he...
  16. GS6000 PMS Color Matching

I should have added something else. My quandry is that stock ink limiting is limiting the intensity of my greens significantly when I print out the PMS chart. I think their stock profiles suck but I don't have the means to address the problem.
  17. GS6000 PMS Color Matching

Somebody school me here on ink limiting. I'm on the latest greatest *cough* Colorburst and I run exclusively white ControlTac. I do not own any calibration equipment. If I run the stock color profiles for 180C shouldn't I be hitting PMS colors pretty closely? Why is ink limiting not part of...
  18. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

Whatever is causing the green problem is not likely to be solved by printing a gutter or periodically printing patches of green and orange. The spittoon's purpose is for the machine to squirt ink into on every pass. That's what they say, anyway - that the printer firmware is essentially...
  19. Spray painted vinyl

I had to "white out" an RV window so that large reflective copy could go over it. The unit was older and was not brilliant white anymore. So I used the Fusion paint, an antique whitish, and painted the black window frame and the ControlTac covered windows simultaneously, even painting the...
  20. Anyone having this problem-GS6000

BTW don't think I don't love this machine. I totally do and I would recommend it wholeheartedly. I crank out a TON of ControlTac, but when church needs 24x36 posters, I put in paper and the quality looks like a movie theater lobby. The operation of the machine and everything has been just...
