  4. Pricing Standstill With Project- Need Some Feedback

Gino, In his original post he stated that both lines he had figured at 10' high by 100' in length. ( X 2 ) is where my cipherin' came into play. Seems like it's been edited out of the original post. In the drawings the lower black panel scales at 10' x 100' + / - Upper Copy looks to be maybe...
  5. Pricing Standstill With Project- Need Some Feedback

Painted many of these buildings, but I'm in Alabama. Think about your pricing. Two areas at 1000 sq. ft. No way to paint these easily on corogated metal. 2 Colors as well. Do you consider $4.00 a sq. ft. enough?
  6. Wall Mural Needed

Wall murals are something I do. Seriously? UNDER $250? He doesn't have the budget to START to buy paint materials. In total honesty, he doesn't have a budget and there is not an option on 133 sq. ft. to fit his wallet.

  8. Font Id Please

It's not a font. The Pensacola Beach sign was created long before computer fonts.
  9. Oracal 651 on flat paint failing - ideas and tips for re-install

Had to re-read this. Key is the flat paint. Nothing adheres well to a flat finish because of the flattening agent, i.e. talc. Refinish with a minimum semi gloss.

  12. Done with grimco

I concur with Petesign about Birmingham's branch. Doesn't hurt I've known some of the Grimco folk through other Birmingham sign supply places ( & Grimco ) better than 30 yrs. Birmingham's Amy, Jake, Meredith & Matthew along with Lamar, Carol & Clay in Mobile, have always been great. A good...

  14. Thank you Cricket Plotter forums!

Not only sign shops but how about the sign suppliers actively getting in on Cricut mania? One of the local suppliers to Birmingham, Bama Sign Supply (Hueytown, AL) has posted on craigslist offering cuts off rolls at a special rate of 1.19 on 12" x 15" and 2.20 on 12" x 24" sheets. Not a bad...
  15. 2nd Muster & Mess, Southern style Letterheads meet

A traditional but "Southern Style" Letterheads meet is in the works. March 22nd - 24h, 2013 in Birmingham, Alabama. This will be a craft showcase of hand painting, hand carving, gold leaf and everything that makes a sign a work of art. A thousand years of collective knowledge being shared under...
  16. Something has changed

My .02, devalued of course.... I've said this many times and it may be the first here, I dunno. When typing away the thoughts and answering posts, things get lost in translation. There is no way to see a hand jesture, a smile, voice inflection or body language. Those who've met me in person...

  18. Ohhhhh, what a night......................

..I too was on the "late december back in '63" thought.. Being married 27+ yrs, I liked this part of Gino's comment best : "After I got up off the floor, she said we can have more of them, but not that often." Yep, I understand, Brother.
  19. Show quality

After "re doing" a Roush Mustang ( 2006 ) with it's 6th stripe kit, it will NEVER happen again for a "show quality" client. I came on board after the 5th install after repaint ( warranty ) and he wasn't happy with the other installs. Luckily this body shop had 2 RM's similar stripes. After the...
  20. "Big Check" pricing

Whose perceived value? One time use or over a year does it take you less time or materials to do them? Foamcore, Coroplast, Celtec, or what ever substrate they need them on are priced the same as any other sign of the same. If this is a customer that you want to "throw a bone to" you could...
