  1. WTB Old version of Gerber Composer with Dongle

My company is looking for a couple copies with dongles of older versions of Gerber Omega Composer.
  2. Oce 350 UV and Vacuum hold down

Thanks for the reply. We actually run the heads a bit higher than the default (1.5) and the print quality has remained high. I don't think there have been any head crashes, usually parts expand due to the lamp heat and they bow in the centers and the heads will "rub" across. Obviously the parts...
  3. UV adhesion

We run an Oce 350GT and print to acrylic with a promoter with no problems. You do need to run white coverage over any promoter or the colors can be altered. We run the 256 ink set which is more flexible than Oce's 255. We've printed on acrylic, lexan, laminates, painted substrates, aluminum...
  4. Oce 350 UV and Vacuum hold down

Just wondering if anyone out there has any ideas for improved part hold down on their flatbed printer. We run into the occasional printhead "rub" and get ruined parts. We tend to run a lot of different parts on the bed per run, sometimes 3-5 bigger parts, sometimes hundreds of smaller parts...
  5. Keyboard shortcuts issue

We are having a problem with Omega 3.0 where the shortcut keys for copy and paste and a few others seem to be crossed. We can't come up with a solution but have tried full re-installation and even replacing the keyboard. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance! Mark in West Mich.
  6. Transition from Omega Composer (cut vinyl) to Flatbed UV Printing

I output to the laser from Omega and use the wireframe designation in the print options for vector cutting. Not sure how the layer option would work. I will play with that. If I created a 24x36 box to represent the laser bed, I'm guessing it would automatically try to cut that box out since I...
  7. Transition from Omega Composer (cut vinyl) to Flatbed UV Printing

The duplicate file part is what is going to be a struggle. We do a lot of typesetting and vinyl cutting from Omega right now, and Illustrator is no match for that kind of productivity. The preference would be to be able to continue working and typesetting in Omega with consistent .eps performace...
  8. Transition from Omega Composer (cut vinyl) to Flatbed UV Printing

We are using Ver. 2.6. That sounds very encouraging! I wasn't sure how much better file conversions would be from one version to the next. I've always found Composer to be very good at what its for, but not much else.
  9. Transition from Omega Composer (cut vinyl) to Flatbed UV Printing

My company does a lot of vinyl cutting using mostly Omega Composer and Gerber products. Our font set and workflow are completely built around the use of Composer. As many of you know there are often difficulties when converting and importing these file types to either Adobe Illustrator or Onyx...
  10. Omega Composer dimension tool

Wow, its amazing how I can miss something THAT obvious. I guess I just didn't notice the options pop up there before. Thanks for your help!
  11. Omega Composer dimension tool

Does anyone know if there is a way to tweak the measurement arrows and font sizes for the dimension tool. It works great on large projects but for smaller ones the arrows are just way too big to use. This could be a major, major time saver. Thanks in advance for any help! Mark in West...
  12. Epilog laser cutting question (again)

We focus down to almost the halfway point of the piece. We are getting OK results but not quite good enough of our pickier customers. We're thinking about getting the 4" cone lens as it gives a better focal range and the air goes straight down through the cut.
  13. Epilog laser cutting question (again)

We slow it way down to about 6 at full power and 5k freq. but its not clean on the bottom side. Sharp angles tend not to go through all the way. Even after we set the focus down into the material a touch.
  14. Epilog laser cutting question (again)

We have the 120W machine with a 24"x36" bed. Should have put that in the first post(=
  15. Epilog laser cutting question (again)

Has anyone successfully cut .5" clear acrylic on one of these machines? I think we need to do a 2 pass cut on it but haven't found the perfect settings to get perfect results (every) time. Need to be able to cut dimensional letters. Thanks in advance! Mark in West Mich. :thankyou:
  16. Enroute to Illustrator cs4 conversions

We did try the import command and that worked for enroute. But not for illustrator. Even tried to place the file. What worked was to bring the dxf into omega composer and then into illustrator but probably not the most reliable way.
  17. Enroute to Illustrator cs4 conversions

We are having trouble with importing/exporting enroute to illustrator cs4 and vice versa. Is there a procedure or plugin for this?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> What’s happening is the enroute files can be opened up in cs4 but...
  18. PrismJET in storage...

I recently purchased a used PrismJET. It has been in storage for approx. 2.5 months now and I need to bring it back online. As it stands it does not print at all - ink is not flowing. I saw it print before it went into storage so I know it works. My question is how do I best go about cleaning it...
  19. looking to get a printer ?

I worked at a "big name sign shop" that, believe it or not, opened with just a 12" plotter and EDGE. Not sure how but they survived on that set-up for 4 years. Took me 2 years to convince the owner that we needed an actual printer. I'm sure it was the best decision he ever made. Cheaper...
  20. Advice needed...

I just purchased a basic RIP - FlexiPrint SE. Should that along with Photoshop and Illy be sufficient? Or should I expect to need something more than that?
