  1. Perhaps a silly print question...

Has anyone ever tried printing on spandex/lycra on their solvent printers? I know it's usually done dye-sub, but thought I'd ask. Also, anyone know where to buy rolls of spandex/lycra for printing? I've searched and come up with nothing of any use. thanks in advance.
  2. Who is ready for the World Cup?

I am VERY excited!!!! Would love to see my Azzuri repeat, but alas, I think the real money is on Argentina, Brazil, or Germany... The usual suspects as my dad likes to say.
  3. How much cheaper?

I hope it wasn't me.
  4. Hot Laminate with Aqueous Ink

Soldiers... I wish I thought of that at the time. The adhesive we used was on a roll with a release liner. Basically really big and sticky, two-sided tape. If I remember correctly, we ordered from Drytac. Never had a problem with delamination
  5. Hot Laminate with Aqueous Ink

For years, I did it this way: Coat the foam board with adhesive and trim excess. I used to do this 100 sheets at a time to have some ready. Sometimes would have a couple days worth, sometimes a couple weeks... depending on workload. Print on HP 2500 with the cheapest paper possible (not my...
  6. Media recommendation

My first statement can be disregarded if you have the capability to do a contour cut after the white backing has been applied. I just used this method last week, don't know why I didn't think of that until after I hit submit.
  7. Media recommendation

If you need the non printed areas to stay clear, then you'll need the capability to print white only behind the colors (screen, thermal, white solvent, etc.) If the non-printed areas are to be white, I do the same as Gene and Pat here. Oracal 3651 clear with 651 or even Solvex from Fellers...
  8. Football!!

Amen Liquid! I'm hoping that the Vikes hand the Saints the only loss that matters!
  9. Arial missing...

Silly question, but did you try restarting Illustrator after re-installing font? I know I have to restart Illustrator before newly installed fonts are available.
  10. Source for Retractable Banner Stand that is Telescopic?

I've been told that if you cut the elastic, you are supposed to tie a new knot, at the shorter length, instead of removing it all together.
  11. I'm going home early...

    Thanks boss!:beer
  12. World Cup draw tomorrow

I honestly have a hard time not letting my heart get in the way here... If I had to predict, I would agree with Spain. They just looked too good during the European cup.
  13. World Cup draw tomorrow

V-ENGRAVE... Too funny, but true! my brother in law keeps saying Brazil... God I hope he's wrong. Anybody but Brazil or Argentina, and I'll be ok with it.
  14. World Cup draw tomorrow

Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully I will be able to watch the draw... As much as I hate to say it, I don't think my Azzuri can repeat this time around.
  15. Does this make sense????

one thing i noticed. "Winner picked December 21th..." should be 21st.
  16. shadow/transparency effects turn purple

I think perhaps you need to look at what values you're using for your black. A good black should include all of your CMYK colors. I typically use 20 20 20 100 for a nice rich black.
  17. To All of the Signs101 Family

My heart goes out to his family and friends. Didn't know the man either... but based on the responses in this thread, I wish I had.
  18. Soljet speed

You aren't supposed to "wipe" or "scrub" the underside of the heads (nozzle area). Lightly dabbing a swab saturated with cleaning fluid is ok, if absolutely necessary.
  19. Roland Soljet Pro III Black Problem...

I can't say for sure, but it may how you build your black. Roland black has a green hue to it (especially noticable when printing greys). I've had a lot of luck with this combination for black: C-20 M-20 Y-20 K-100. I use 3M controltac for all of my wraps and I can say for sure that when you...
