  1. Font Help

Thank you a million! I really appreciate the help. :)
  2. Font Help

Hello! I have another font mystery that I'd love to get some help with. My customer is very nice, but her company is terrible at providing artwork. Can anyone recognize the "Fine Sterling Jewelery" font on the image here...
  3. Font help please (and thank you)

Ha ha, I'm also the first to admit that I'm happy to have XP installed on a partition to run my serious programs like Excel! (Also, the games run smoother because they're coded properly.) But yes, I am one of the people who pay the extra money for the mac shininess. I got tired of building...
  4. Font help please (and thank you)

Ah, I'm actually working on the Mac. I tend to just set them up in groups and activate them depending on which project I work on. I wasn't sure if that was pretty standard, or if I was the only one doing that. :)
  5. Font help please (and thank you)

See, fonts are something I've always scratched my head about... Are there any general tutorials about how to work with them more easily? I know that if I want to run most of my fonts, Photoshop has a conniption fit. I have about 6,000, but I often just turn them on or off by making groups in my...
  6. Font help please (and thank you)

Ah, I'm guessing you have quite the group sets for projects to activate and deactivate. Geez, you must have the patience of a saint!
  7. Font help please (and thank you)

Shovel, if you don't mind my asking, how do you organize them so that you can use them in graphics programs without blowing up your computer?
  8. Computer problems...

Go with the Mac idea! :D The iMacs are great. I work with an iMac at home and Windows XP at work. Let's just say there's a LOT of swearing at work! Hope you get your computer issues worked out!
  9. Pen Tablets

Wacom is definitely the best way to go. I've been working with tablets since I was eleven, and I can tell you that the other tablet products tend to have more wiring problems than the Wacoms. At work I use a smaller Graphire4, which is great if you don't want to commit until you've had a taste...
  10. Having a brainfart

Thanks, I really appreciate the help!
  11. Having a brainfart

Yes, yes it is. It's the only sample I have from the customer. :/
  12. Having a brainfart

Hello folks! I'm having a major brainfart over the name of this font, which I think is pretty simple. What the Font! isn't being very helpful, either, so I thought I'd ask the professionals here. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
  13. Turnaround Times

Yeah, just for fun I ran the numbers. We would be in the $1000 range as well. For turn around time, we (almost always) guarantee two to three days. Real Estate is 24 hour turn around. Quality, cost, or speed. They get two out of three, and we refuse to lower quality.
  14. Another Master serie cutter issue......... GRRR

wetgravy, I'm terribly curious to see the graphic that froze up the plotter. Actually, until I read this thread, it never even occurred to me that was possible on the newer machines... I've run some pretty enormous files (80 megs) through my 30" Roland GX-300, as well as my PNC1210, and had no...
  15. Hello from BC!

That's us! :) Have you noticed a change in business in Kelowna in the last few years? A few other types of businesses have noticed the change, but I was curious to see if another sign shop might have as well.
  16. Hello from BC!

Hey, maybe so! I didn't think I'd run into another Kelowna store here. (Hint: we have the dog in our logo. Someone at head office creatively named him "Hue". :/ )
  17. Hello from BC!

Hello everyone! I finally thought I should introduce myself. :) I work as a graphic designer/sign maker/juggler-of-many-work-orders in a sign shop in Kelowna, BC. We do primarily vinyl work, preferring to subcontract out the more complex sorts. We have three Roland plotters - my work station...
