  1. Need Help What's Happening Here? Printer Issue

I would look REALLY hard on the bottom of your print carriage. Looks like an eyelash/hair is "wicking" the ink and dragging it a little. Clean not only around heads, also the bottom face of the carriage and sides, get a flashlight up there and you'll see some residue hanging down i reckon.
  2. XR-640 Printer manual Required/WTF is going on here.

    Captop Replacement/ Pump Check
  3. Reg marks inside of graphic

It is possible to design this way, but in order to output most cutters/routers will read the mark as the perimeter of the file. I do know the latest graphtc plotter supports putting marks inside the file, but that is only done with their Corel/Illy plug-in and a graphtec FC8600. Its about time...
  4. Roland giving some money back ?

Didn't have time to read through every line but here Don't know if this has been suggested, But your 12 Mil lam may need to be taken out of the equation to qualify the issue. 12 Mil could be creating an effect like viewing through a glass of water. The actual and read postion of the mark could...
  5. My VS-540 is suddenly very LOUD! Suggestions...?

Scan Motor Sounds like it is struggling and the bearings are getting worn. How long have you had this machine and what type of usage? (prints 40hrs a week etc.)
  6. Yellow print head problem: letting cyan through ROLAND VERSA ART RS640

Post a test print so we can see please.
  7. Bidirection Print problem - MIMAKI JV 3 160 SP

Data Issue Looks like a cable may not be seated properly in the print carraige or the board above the print carraige. Do a in machine test print to test. If your nozzle check has this magenta mist, something is funky. Turn machine off (and Unplug) check that all cables are seated. Especially on...
  8. Roland Versaworks white gradient

Possible workaround for a one time thing Load the file into VW as is (without cutline) then Load file with cutline (Two files in your queue). Arrange them in the same area x-0/y-0 Send the white file to print and select return to origin in the cut tab. After printing, the head will return to...
  9. 540v Ink drops and weird smudge

Ink Drips You may have air getting into your line near the dampers, or an excess of ink built up on the print head. It looks like when the momentum of the carraige stops, the ink falls in a uniform spot. Replace Sponge/Captops would be the first thing i would do since it should be done...
  10. Strange print cut problem SP540-V

If all Calibrations are to spec, and your wire tension is correct, I would replace cut cable (cheap part). If that is not the issue, there have been a handful of SP-540v's with a pinch roller bar not giving consistent pressure along the pinch rollers. Sometimes the pinch roller assembly cracks...
  11. Versacamm sp 540v blow Power board fuse

There is something that is blowing that fuse, it could be a head, cables or even a bad transistor on the main board. Turn power off and unplug. Check the transistor's readings and inspect all cables so that they are seated correctly and clean on the leads. If the Fuse blows after that, turn...
  12. SP-540i Print Heads - Can I replace them myself?

I agree with Dan, Thats an expensive part that can be rendered useless in about a split second if you are not careful. Even if it gets installed and is firing ink, it is still probably not installed correctly in terms of calibration. Call a tech
  13. Roland sp-300v helpppp

Post a test print please..this will be very telling Usually indicative of ink pooling up from a faulty captop and travelling up the opposite side of the head. New captops and a medium clean...If ink has not made it up to the dampers this will solve the issue. If you can see cross color...

  15. roland eco-sol max vs third party inks?

There are plenty of pro's and con's to the third party ink question. If your ink savings per month will exceed paying for a tech visit and parts, then it absolutely makes sense. If you are in a position where your business is 100% reliant on that printer working up to par with no down time...
  16. issues with print, cut, and laminate

Calibration I would recommend doing the Crop/Cut Calibration. This will zero in the printed mark to the blade. You can also print your graphic/ put post it note over the four reg marks, laminate, then cut out the laminate and post it note so the printer is reading the mark directly from the...
  17. Need some help Prints looking very fuzzy

Looks Electrical...My first guess (and a cheaper fix) is the print carraige board....Swapping CABLES while machine is powered off and unplugged, then testing with the same file is the best way to find out.
  18. VS-640 issues

If your using Versaworks, make sure you select "place alternate" checkbox so the portions on the panels that are butted up, are printed in the same Y axis on the machine. Not doing this can have your colors print differently as the position of the graphic and how the heads fire the ink do have...
  19. Weird 1604 Problem

Re-Rip, If it's still no good, Try another file with similar characteristics. If that looks fine, you may need to rework the root file. If not, i would say static or your linear encoder needs a swipe or two.
