  1. Two sided window decals

Some software will do this automatically, but you need to layer the foil to achieve your desired results, blocking out the other side typically with layers of white and grey - Basically sandwiching your two viewable graphics with a layer of white, grey, white. (on clear) Hope this makes...
  2. Corel Draw Transparency

I think in Corel it's called Power clip. But you should be able to search in the help files for 'how to create mask'. You are on the right track. Create your vector shape or mask, then select both the vector shape and the bitmap, and hit 'power clip' or 'create mask' - or something similar...
  3. Corel Draw Transparency

I think you might be confusing vector transparency with a bitmap that has a background. If this is the case, draw your vector outline and create a mask. The transparency tools would be for gradients or if you have two different vector objects overlaping creating a third color with the...
  4. Envision 375 Nocking??

We would get a knocking noise when something was haywire with the z-axis. If the Z-Axis would not read correctly or not calibrated correctly, the blade holder would knock on the up. Check to see if your cut depths are off. If so, you may just need to calibrate the Z-Axis. Good Luck!
  5. Mutoh Falcon Head Soak?

We have a Mutoh Falcon. When doing a nozzle check, the black is not printing correctly (nozzles missing). The other colors are fine. Will a head soak address this problem? And what exactly is a head soak and for how long? Do you remove the ink from your system first? Anything else to try...
  6. can SignLab 8 break masks?

If you are talking about a mask on a bitmap, the command is alt+u, or arrange/clipping/clipping clear. Enjoy!
  7. rc wrap

A regular laminate will not cut it. You will need a laminate that will take exposure to petroleum-based or other chemicals. Nitro fuel will turn your wrap into a gooey mess (ask how I know! HA!) Good Luck!
  8. are all dongles equal

There is a license file that is tied to your specific dongle. The license file also enables/disables certain modules. Good Luck!
  9. Trying to get an old Edge printer to run

To use Signlab, make sure he/she has the spot foil module. Otherwise all you will be able to print is CMYK. Good Luck!
  10. Signlab 9.0!!!!!!

If you are looking to upgrade just for the design tool aspect, I think you might be disappointed. The text tool has some more functionality. They have enhanced the bitmap capabilities (but for me, I still use photoshop for these type functions). There are other items, but these stick out the...
  11. any Signlab 8 users here?

tried to upload a snap shot, but didnt work out. But it's the button with the 'a a' next to the hard kerning numbers. Also, you can hold down <CTR> and double click on the line of text and it will pop up the kerning nodes. Good Luck!
  12. How to do it in PhotoShop

Several ways to do it depending on the desire results, but an easy one to explain is make the selection, feather the selection, copy and paste it into a new document. Good Luck!
  13. Gerber Ion Feedback

We bought a Jetster (wide format inkjet). To achieve 'saleable' results we printed on Gerber's coated media ... really pricey, but great quality. About 3.5 years after we bought it, Gerber decides they are going to wash there hands of this printer, and no longer support it, but more...
  14. Gerber Ion Feedback

We were primarily a 'Gerber' shop and now will no longer own ANYTHING Gerber (everything from router, to plotter(s), to Edge FX). The Ion might be the best printer in the world, but with the Gerber name behind it, it just became something Gerber won't support in a couple of years. Just cant...
  15. How can I instruct my customers...

I think the reality is you need those other programs. For AI stuff, you can ask your clients to convert the strokes to outlines and to merge like areas, then save as an early version of AI (8 or earlier). Sometimes if I am having trouble with PDFs (assuming your trying to RIP them), I just go...
  16. JV3-75SP II printer leak all the ink out overnight HELP!! :)

you need to replace the capping station. The sponge like things on the capping station will start to swell until it touches the print head and then dump all your ink. The capping station is one of those things that require regular maintenance. Good Luck!
  17. Photoshop image mask/cut path export to Illustrator question

Once you have your selection, open up your path pallet, and make the selection a path. Then export path to Illustrator. Or if your software will support it you could could keep the selection as an alpha mask and save file out as a TIFF or any format that supports alpha channels. Good Luck!
  18. Spooler 99% CPU usage after tranfer is complete!

I have personally experienced this, and in my case it was due to an outdated video driver. If you have recently updated signlab try updating your video drivers. If all of the sudden this happened... I am not sure... maybe uninstall and reinstall signlab. Good Luck!
  19. Which design program?

Photoshop does create vector files. I have to admit, I like to create my vector artwork from a bitmap inside photoshop better... I dont know why, just find it easier. Good Luck on your decision!
  20. Poked in the eye again by Gerber

Run from Gerber!!! A little background... we USED to drink the Gerber kool-aid. Pretty much all our devices are gerber, from CNC, to wide format, multiple plotters, edge fx and never again will I go with or recommend ANYTHING from gerber. We bought the Gerber Jetster (Mutoh rockhopper) and...
