I know I am a newb and don't know much about signs, but I do know it would look better on a Chevy....LOL J/K
I will be glad when I get my equipment and
start doing jobs...
The school I am going to attend is the International Academy of Design and Technology. According to them all of their instructors are in the business so the classes are based on real world stuff, not what a text book that was written 4 yrs ago says. Form what I understand several of the class...
I am with techman. Get rid of Internet exploder and use Firefox. I see a lot of people talking AV, but AV does not do a whole lot for spyware that can cause a lot of issues as well. One of the top spyware detection software applications is Spybot Search and destroy. I use this and it cut down on...
Thank you all for the input.
I am not taking this thinking it will "set me up" for this industry. As many of you mentioned it gave you the basic principals. This is what I am looking for. I will be learning with several different programs and will get to understand the pros and cons of each...

I have read some people just use AI and others say you can't do it all with AI you have to have a "co-cut." I do not know what a co-cut is. Is this just a snap-in for AI...
Thank you for the offer. Do you have a shop here in town I could come by and check out sometime? If you run a home based business I understand and would not want to invade your home.
I guess my post was misleading. I don't know anyone in the sign business. I meant I know people that own businesses that I could do the signs and stickers for.
I think the hardest part for me is going to be the graphics. I know some people that do graphic design. I may have to pay them to do some complicated jobs until I get better. My wife is looking at taking some graphic design classes. Being an Air Force member I can't exactly quit my job and do...
I have been trying to look at info. I just downloaded a free book from Roland's website.
I will probably buy a more in depth book. I figured the only way to really learn was to talk to the people in the business. I was just going to look as a non-member, but I could not see the pics. I figured...
Hi,
I did screen printing for a while, but had to do military move and had to sell my equipment. I am now looking at doing vinyl work. Maybe start with little stuff I can do with an Epson R1800 and a 24" vinyl cutter. I figure this business will be easier to pack up and move if the time comes...
