there is not a market big enough in Cyprus to justify the use of metallic inks yet. About 30 other Roland users in Cyprus have been using these inks for years with no problems and with excellent results.

Or maybe its just the originals that are way too expensive in here Cyprus :) We are currently waiting for a response from Roland after sending them some printed samples of our issues., will keep you updated

100% sure even confirmed it today.

And there is also a 480 euro difference on the price of the ink set

Hi we recently got into large format digital printing and have a guy on board with extensive experience in fitting vinyl, however we have difficulties with curvy parts such as mirrors and the part where the back number plate is positioned (curvy corners)

tried uni-directional printing and flipping the tiles accordingly, and now have less colour variation between the tiles, but a big difference between the uni and bi directional printing. and printing 250 - 300 meters unidirectional is not reasonable. still waiting for a response from the Roland...

I have tried tiling in Versaworks and "pre"-tiling in illustrator but still have the issue. I suppose I could try what you suggest, but I would still like to find the problem and solve it if possible.

you will not regret getting this printer trust me ! I get a lot of work from advertising agencies and designers and so far the comments are the same: they have not yet seen so fine quality especially on gradients, colour brightness and even solid black !

you're right sorry. We have more or less settled for the VS-640 , BSnyder mentioned the VP-540 so I just asked.

is the VP-540 similar to the VS-640 ?

I suppose I could fit a separate cutter, but any combination we choose comes out more expensive for now, and due to huge lack of tech support our options are generally limited unfortunately !

Roland VS-640 fully loaded is now around 5000 - 5500 euros cheaper than JV33 with standalone cutter
