Hello,
Error 2610 refers to subtank 1 overfill:
"The subtank full sensor continues to indicate FULL though a certain quantity of ink has been supplied from that subtank."
Sounds like ink is not moving through the head although the machine thinks it has. This is likely a pump/cap issue.
Wow nice images!
These are satellite droplets next to the intended droplet. Normally I would recommend voltage adjustment to improve but this apparently did not help in this case. Anything that effects ink viscosity could also be to blame. Check the head heater assy. If everything is working OK...
Looks like the error happens when the motor tries to move the carriage at higher speeds and power levels. This normally would indicate a failing Y motor, especially If this machine gets heavy use. Was the motor getting louder leading up to this?
I would try to draw down the level of ink in the supply tanks if any of them are really full before trying that. A syringe and a piece of tubing should suffice. Do not re-introduce any of the ink since it should be considered contaminated unless you have a .05 micron filter for color, .10 micron...
The machine should be ok if you empty the waste ink, remove ink bottles and secure the carriage and gantry with the shipping brackets supplied by Mimaki. They are yellow and likely in a rectangular box. If you have the transportation handles I suggest you use them as well. If no brackets are...
I'm willing to bet the waste ink is going somewhere. Take the panel off the front right of the machine (capping station cover) and look for a pool of ink. You should see two hoses coming off the pump and going down through a hole above the waste ink bottle. Route them correctly if they are...
Are you running windows 10? We have seen Rasterlink develop problems due to recent updates pushed to W10 computers. You may be able to roll back the last update for Windows or update Rasterlink to the latest rev.
Also, check the firmware revision on the printer. Sometimes when you update...
I would look closely at the capping alignment on the head. If the edge of the cap is overlapping the bottom of the head bracket it may drop all channels. Replace the cap base and slider and align to head. These parts are inexpensive from Mimaki.
Just to clarify, this error refers to the thin or thick head position. You can not do head adjustment in thick. Place the head in thin and you will find it will work fine.
Cheers!
This is what my manual has on this error.
SERVICE REQ. 00010013: PROVIDING SYSTEM ORIGIN ERROR
o Problem n It is defective the starting point detection error or providing system starting point sensor by the motor step-out of ink pump Assy. n Providing home position sensor is in trouble. n...
I would have to agree. This is what the Mimaki engineer that trained me refers to as "cockring" (cockling) of the media due to heat. Some media are sensitive to even moderate heat settings. Setting the pre heat a bit higher than the print heat can help, but I would lower both. It is a common...
I have a client that called in a "severe" cyan overspray problem on the GS6000.
He has cleaned around the cap and head to no avail. I will not be able to get in front of this printer for a few days and would like to help him without charging a service call. Anyone else seen this?
Sounds like the capping station is worn and has gone out of alignment with the heads. I end up replacing the base and hinges as well as the slider on my clients machines. Sometimes replacing just the slider doesn't solve the problem. Replacing pumps at the same time refreshes the machine to like...
Try CompassMicro.com, they have many parts in stock, offer online ordering, and can special order from Epson.
Heads are a different story. I have customers that have called Epson tech support and purchased them directly.
I am an independant service tech in the Boston area. I have a master tech certification on the JV3 and could bring the machine back to spec. Send me a pm to discuss if you are interested.
Thanks,
Bob
