  1. Huge help needed to get print work done that we can clear coat in...

Pretty much right on the money, we've ended up doing some wide stripes length wise on the tank and fenders, all done with different base coat colors and flake that will all be top coated in Tangerine candy. The overall color scheme is still all orange flavors. We are shooting the parts now, so...
  2. Huge help needed to get print work done that we can clear coat in...

Thanks for the following up! You are absolutely correct, now that I think about it, white would be the only option, since the base coat on the bike it Tangelo orange and printed on a translucent vinyl, would definitely effect the print colors. Doesn't much matter where you are located =the art...
  3. Huge help needed to get print work done that we can clear coat in...

Hmmm, All great points, the issue is real airbrush artists or "portrait artists" that can capture the true look of a person each and every time are VERY expensive, I'm talking $6,500 just for the portrait work. While the pencil / ink / computer artist who absolutely nailed the look of the model...
  4. Huge help needed to get print work done that we can clear coat in...

Thanks for taking the time to offer help! Cast film does indeed sound like it would fit the need, from the quick look I took on the subject. I'm not familiar with it though -is it a material that is in wide use? Or would it be something that many printers would struggle with getting and...
  5. Huge help needed to get print work done that we can clear coat in...

We used to visit this forum often for help with the Mutoh we had. We no longer have the printer, but we sure could use advise like we used to get from members years ago! This project is for our own use -we had an amazing pin up artist do a drawing of our model, it's in a tif format at 300 dpi...
  6. On going issues with 1204 firmware, now desperate for help...

Thanks for the help! It was tougher to take a picture than we would have thought... Attached is an image where the banding can be seen as well as the colors now being printed are so far off from the original art. We included a shot of the actual print so you could see how far off the colors...
  7. On going issues with 1204 firmware, now desperate for help...

Hi all, we really appreciate everyone offering advice! Having had many hours now messing with things, we think we may have made our own mess. We'd like to rollback the firmware to what we had and start over -but can't find where to get it! We did backup the .prm but didn't save the firmware...
  8. Mutoh 1204 banding after firmware update

Thanks to all who've helped so far! Miserable to troubleshoot -this is costing a fortune in ink and paper! The only way we seem to be able to test if the error is still there is with large prints 3' X 6', small tests do not cause the error. The banding issue we really aren't all that...
  9. Mutoh 1204 banding after firmware update

I can have that info tomorrow (serial), did a test print full size- with banding, with an inch to go the printer quite again same error. The test still had banding as well. A few threads pointed to firmware and then motherboard / cpu problems. The machine is a couple years old but has had very...
  10. Mutoh 1204 banding after firmware update

Been having no problems with the Mutoh 1204, yesterday doing a large print, it shutdown about two thirds of the way through. Error E016 TLB-L/I [02] Read up on this forum, restarted the machine several times, tried another print -this time shut off before half way same error. Went to Mutoh...

  12. Mutoh 1204 using 50" media = @#$#$##$

Aach!! Thanks for the response! Daggone it, before we bought the 50" material we looked at the specs for the 1204 it says clearly 50" maximum width material -how do they get away with inaccurate info like that!? Guess it means you can feed it 50" material, but it doesn't say maximum print width...
  13. Mutoh 1204 using 50" media = @#$#$##$

New to using the Mutoh... Been printing on 48" vinyl pretty much problem free, until we switched to 50" roll of photo pager to do 48" wide print. No matter what we do at the Mutoh or in Flexi, or even in Production manager the Mutoh will only detect 1225mm! Changing to custom media size in...
