  3. News HP Issued New Service Update with Flat Rate Pricing???

Apparently starting January 2, 2019 HP Onsite Support is having FLAT RATE for repairs on Out Of Warranty Latex Printers. The price doesn't depend on the time it takes to fix or the cost of the parts. The driving factor in the price is the RESPONSE time you need it in. 3-5 Business Day Response...

  6. Lam Separated From Vinyl, Again

I'm not sure if it's the Overlam not sticking to the Latex ink or what. HP retailer tells me it's probably the laminator not putting enough pressure. I've never had this issue though with my Roland eco-sol. Has anyone else out there seen this problem with theirs? HP L560, Latex ink, Avery 1105...
  7. Review Banner bleeds white (not ink)

I ordered 2 grand format banners for a customer of mine for his business front. It's not in the sun all day and mounted flush against building so there's no wind damage. Ourselves and other customers have banners like this on buildings that last 3 or more years before starting to fade. This one...
  8. $4 HP L500 Hack

So, I thought after all the R&D they put into these machines, it was quite silly they didn't put a handle on the window. There's a small gap along the bottom, my fingers, being pretty slim barely fit under, so I just got the hardware from Lowe's and put a handle on myself. See Pic Attached
  9. Opinion What would you say...?

A new shop in town (ShopX for anonymity) who markets Vehicle Wraps, has neither printers nor installers. They called themselves a "print broker" to me. They subbed out the printing from somewhere and got an installer from another wrap shop to install a wrap...and it said "wrapped by ShopX" on...
  10. Silvering Under Overlam, Anyone Else?

Do any other HP Latex users notice silvering on laminated prints? (micro bubbles between lam & ink).
  11. Laminating Accident *graphic Content

This little guy got by the quality check employee while laminating apparently. Being a stink bug, at least we can't smell it through the lam Hah. This is the biggest foreign object we've accidentally laminated to date. Kind thought it'd be messier. (juicy)
  12. Franchise Shop underbidding

So a Franchise shop within reach is bidding on a Business Window Frontage job that is 420 sq. ft. They came in almost half my quote, and I was aggressive. Even using calendered short term vinyl & overlam, I wouldn't try to do it for their price. Usually when this happens it's a small company or...
  13. Avery Vinyl with 3M Overlam...no-no or?

I'm sure both manufacturers would say it's a no-no but, What are the downsides to laminated Avery 1105 Vinyl with 3M Envision Laminate? I'm trying to get the longest length product and 3M's Envision has it...but I prefer the adhesive of Avery. Questions, Comments, Concerns, Allegations?
  14. Wraps and the Worth of Installers

In response to a recent thread I feel this needs it's own one (thread). It comes down to this: A Wrapped Vehicle is a Product. A product with a Market Value. It gives a return on the investment via advertising. It can be written off as a business expense. It can be printed anywhere on any...
  15. See the Difference Avery 1005 vs 1105

So I printed part of a van wrap on what was left of a roll of Avery 1005 and the rest I printed on a new roll of 1105. You can clearly see the difference of what they did with the receptivity on the printing surface with the new 1105. Same ink cartridges, same day, same temps, same printer, same...
  16. Design Priced by sq.ft. ...Really?

So I noticed in the latest "Let's talk shop" article by Charity Jackson in Wraps Magazine, there is some information about pricing wrap designs....by the square foot. Square Foot!!! Here is an excerpt: "According to Freeborg his company starts the design charge at $2 per square foot and then...
