    We had a similar problem with and old Roland CM300 we had to get a new driver for XP from Rolands website, you might want to try there.

    The clicks are normal that's the pump operation. I have never had a cleaning performed during a print seems curious.

    You are correct the VP does have 4 heads where the SP only has 2. Couple other features including removable pinch rollers and lower more compact design. I do like the RIPC on the VP is does add a little more to the VP series.
