we have a S160 not sure how alike it is to your D140 but it has 4 pinch rollers but we "have" to use the two outside pinch rollers at the ends of all material we cut or it will skew off .

we use spectratones all the time here too. it helps alot when having to match a pantone just check the book and see if there's a match or something close to it.
if any 50k printer and match what a 250k flatbed can do then why would they even bother making them or even selling as meny as they do? If you think speed is an issue it's not if its dialed in, when i'm able to print a full 4x8 in 7 mins i think thats fast enough
