Here are some ideas: low end: painted lettering (I just did a 20 square foot sign for $750... used three ounces of paint, one paper cup, 20 feet of pattern paper, and some masking tape...) basic: cut the lettering/design from wood (use ISC-certified MDO, or certified 1x siding) and back-light...

everybody else seems to be jumping on the inkjet bandwagon, and now i'm finally looking at getting an Edge. so, is a NEW edge any better than a used one? does it do more, or am i just buying piece of mind (assuming they keep making replacement parts). if i get a used one and it needs a new head...

I would think that for a run that large it might be more profitable to order the decals from a decal printing company (I've used Stousse Inc).

This reply is only slightly related, but might be helpful... one of the magazines recently had something about graphics on boats. they cautioned that graphics at the waterline take a lot of abuse (from the constant "abrasion" of the water). I would definately want to use a laminate, or at least...
