I don't personally have a printer, but I have a friend in Idaho and also in Flint MI that use them and said they were matched to OEM very well. One of them uses a Mimaki jv3 160, and the other has 2 Rolands(not sure the models)

Does the problem happen with different cartilages or just the one? I'm not sure about your machine, but some Rolands don't even use sensors in the cartridge to sense the level of ink and just go by head firing counts. Try cleaning the contacts on the cartrige and on the printer if possible...

Is there any firmware changes? In the "change ink" menu in the roland there is no ecosol option. The menu in the printer only has solvent and some other types (waterbased, pigment...) no eco.

I am not using bulk ink. However this is a solvent printer - however, I am running eco-solvent in it now.

can you post a close up pic of your print? and of a print test?

for the drivers to be functioning properly a mimaki printer port and a separate mimaki status port must show up in the device manager. if both of those are there, then the software is not recognizing the printer or it has not mounted the printer.

ok, firewire installed. the device manager shows mimaki print and status port, but no print. is there any settings in the printer for the computer to communicate? rasterlink pro printer status = printer not ready.
