  1. Printing Problem

Yeah, it does it in head low as well, but not as noticeably. ALSO wasn't due to a head strike. There is now a brand new head on the machine and it is printing the same way.
  2. Printing Problem

I think the yellow and blue blurs you are seeing on the edges are the result of a crappy camera -- those aren't there in the actual print. I did clean of the encoder strip though, a lot of dust on it but it doesn't seem to have done a lot. Printing with the print head in the low position...
  3. Printing Problem

I don't wipe the roll with alcohol, it has been my experience that it causes more problems than it does help. I generally feed the roll forward a couple of feet before I start printing anything, and the lines that are coming out are the same at the beginning of the roll or in the middle of the roll.
  4. Printing Problem

Yeah I tried different rolls of the same material already, I just switched to that vinyl that is in the photo -- that is the most recent print. It is doing the same thing on various materials.
  5. Printing Problem

Heaters are on - been printing with the same profile, settings, and material for the past few months. This just started yesterday, I am sure it is maintenance related, but can't figure it out. Did some cleanings, alignments, nozzle checks - everything looks fine. Can't get past these weird...
  6. custom boxes

Try derisorydesigns.com -- they screen print on various sizes.
  7. Printing Problem

Hey guys, here is what my Valuejet is printing like the past couple of days. Any ideas what could be causing weird streaks like this?
  8. Banner and Perforated Vinyl Recommendations

We recently switched to the Peak 13 oz. banner from Fellers and are pretty happy with it!
  9. Clothing Line Logo

No offense, but that logo is not good for a clothing line. Putting "Clothing Company" or "Clothing Co." or "Clothing" on a tee shirt under a logo is kind of redundant. Think about the brands that you know and wear. Do they put "Clothing Company" underneath their logo on a shirt? On their...
  10. Need the best solution for blowing up pictures

I want to throw my two cents out there as well and recommend Blow Up 2 by Alien Skin. It's a great product, and does a much better job of sizing up raster images than the default photoshop filters. If you'd like to try it out - you can for free for 30 days! The guys over at Alien Skin have a lot...
  11. help finding this clipart bear

I should seriously consider offering cleanup and vectorization services -- I could re-make that small image in a decently short amount of time. If you need help with it, let me know!
  12. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

After reading everything that has been presented, it is amazing that you're continuing to act so ignorant about what has been discussed. If you were talking with someone who you considered to be an expert, and they were telling you -- a complete newbie to the sign world as my bosses were -- to...
  13. Impressive bus wrap -- NOT MINE!

Hands down, that is the most awesome wrap I have ever seen.
  14. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

Update! We had a conference call with Mutoh and Sign Warehouse, and we discussed getting a replacement printer. I am very pleased to say that Mutoh is standing behind their product! They are going to send us a replacement and Sign Warehouse, Mutoh, and us are going to be splitting the shipping...
  15. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

I am using Flexi 8.6 to create artwork and Production Manager to RIP directly from Flexi.
  16. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

Update! I got an email reply from the Director of Sales at Mutoh. It seems that they are unwilling to help us by putting pressure GBC Sign Warehouse to deal with this problem adequately and carry out our warranty by repairing our machine to working order or replacing our machine with one that...
  17. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

Here is the letter I sent Mutoh, it outlines all of our problems: Hi, I was passed along your contact information as we have been having a very difficult time getting our Mutoh ValueJet 1614 fixed by our dealer, GBC Sign Warehouse. There is a lot of back story in this, so thank you in advance...
  18. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

It was GBC Sign Warehouse. The tech guys are really nice, and have been helpful -- but now that they've come out several times and the machine still isn't fixed, one of the managers is saying that they're "not prepared to take any additiontal actions and this matter will be considered resolved."...
  19. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

Thanks for the suggestion! I have run that test before, a little bit smaller than a meter though -- that's a pretty giant area. I ran each color about 10 " high the full width of the roll with the same results across all colors.
  20. Mutoh VJ 1614 - Vertical Banding - Dealer No Help

Thank you again Randy, I wrote a 3 page e-mail to Mutoh explaining everything. Hopefully i wasn't too detailed ... heh.
