You can't really compare Apple to Microsoft. Microsoft is a software company and Apple is a hardware/software company. When I was in collage for graphic design, we had to use Macs. They would crash almost everyday. They were also brand new! I would put my $1000 Pc against any Mac any day. It...
Our laminate does have a longer lifespan then our vinyl. I am still struggling with the color and profiles. From what I have read, I need to make my own profiles, but I don't know how to go about doing that.
Has anyone ever laminated a banner? I have a client that ordered 2 banners to use as table banners for a trade show. They want to be able to reuse them. My worry is that they will scratch them by placing things on top of them. So my idea is to laminate them with 3M overlam. Anyone have any...
I am just wondering if it is possable to print colors that look as vibrant as vinyl. Like Cardinal Red for example. I can't seem to print a red that doesn't look pink or dull. I have tried to adjust my color profiles as best as I can. I am not 100% sure on what I am doing with the profiles, it...
I just took the cover off the side of the unit and all the fuses were fine. The green switch does light up when you turn it on. I let it heat it up for a good 15-20 minutes and still no temp change.
Slamdunkpro when you say it only get to about 100 degrees, are you talking F or C?
Thanks for...
At our shop we have a SEAL Base 54 Laminator with heat assist, and it never heats up. It has never heated up since we got it around 3 years ago. I just never got around to doing anything about it. Today I was using it to apply some yard signs, and thought some heat would really help with the...
The JV33 at our shop has an interesting problem. When I am printing a banner or anything else that needs a lot of heat, it will start to heat up but then stop before it reaches the correct temp. Then it starts to heat up again, and then it stops again. It will do this until I go to the printer...
Does anyone have some high quality photo? I want am image that I can print on our wide format printer that shows off the capability of the printer. I want something colorful and high resolution. I am just not finding much online. I would like to get some thing like you would see on the cover of...
We were printing a d/s banner once and it was binding up and the head was striking the banner about half way through the 2nd side. He said it was because of the heat. So we turned it off and it did nothing. Thinking about it now we probably needed more heat if anything. Oh well at least we have...
Well guys I must say the first banner I ran with the heat turned on (and way up I might add) came out great and the ink was cured before it rolled up on the take up real. I would have never had this problem if that Midwest Sign Supply "Tech Support" guy had not have told me not to use heat. I...
Sorry I didn't refresh the page before making the last post and i didn't see your first post insignia I am using a Mimaki JV33. So if I have the post heater on should I not have a fan sitting in front of the printer drying the media? Should I have the heater on when I print the second side? I...
Sorry I didn't see that post. The transfer is happening once I unroll the second printed side from the first. After all the printing is done. Thanks for the help Slam.
