Had similiar problem... it progressed to this. A change to roland inks from solaris made that and other problems go away... Hope it helps.
  2. Bypass the router?

Thank you all very much. I will look into a hub or cable. This will save us money on stopped prints, headaches and stress!!! Ya'll are great! Thanks again from Texas!!! DD:thankyou:
  3. Bypass the router?

Due to small town internet provider problems, we need to know if there is a way to connect the printer to the computer without going through the router. Sometimes the printer stops mid print because the router or our internet has a problem, so why not go around the router? Does it need to be...
  4. Photoshop scale?

We need a basic scale or adjustment we should use to create files in photoshop. I have been using AI for years and have now hired an experienced photoshop person who is new to signs. At full size 300 dpi with several photos, the file is nearly 700 meg. We are considering doing at 10% scale or...

  6. Box thing around objects gone in ai cs3

I have gotten used to scaling things with the box around whats selected, but it is now gone. Anybody know how to get it back? I've been looking in preferences, view, etc and can't find it. I am using ai CS3. Thanks, DD
  7. Made the switch.

If it's an outline for text, then you need to ungroup the text before the weld and it will weld in one step. This feature needs to be practiced some. You will find it also has less random parts to delete if you do it at a larger scale. Some fonts like papyrus don't work well when they are small...
  8. Profile for orocal 751?

I sometimes print a small job onto orocal 651 with no problems, but I really need to print this one job onto some 751 and it's not printing great. There may be no solution but to use the print media... but just in case, has anyone found a solution to print to the 751? Many thanks, DD

  10. Looking for a free version of this...

The RED DIAMOND. I've found it as anna, but any other name suggestions are appreciated. It's a quick sponsor banner and I opened my mouth and said "oh ya, I can do that..." The font websites you recommend would be great too, if you don't mind. I use fonts101 and dafont. Many many thanks... DD
  11. Ink ran out; no alert; ink drop out

If we put in a used cartridge it happens, but never with a new cartridge.
  12. Plastic water tank

Thanks folks! I will consider these tips. I like the krylon idea and will price accordingly. Hopefully we price it so high our customer decides to go an easier direction... but lately for some reason, all our customers don't care about price and will pay just about anything. I have been...
  13. Plastic water tank

I have a customer needing a decal on the end of a large plastic water tank. It's like those you may see on a trailer for use by guys offering portable pressure washing. It's about 500 gallon. I think I tried to get cast to stick years ago and it does not do well. I did test a piece of...
  14. sp-540v Motor error/makes grumbling sound

After printing fine all day I heard an unusual sound when setting up the sheet. It sounded slightly different during printing too. I am talking about the x axis. After printing 18" it gave the motor error message. When I run material back and forth it sounds awful. I started removing panels to...
  15. Printing fuzzy mist around images on polyester

Well... I tried static guard from the grocery store and it worked just fine. I sprayed the inside of the roll and the machine. It's printing perfectly fine. Hope that helps someone one day out there. DD:clapping:
  16. Printing fuzzy mist around images on polyester

I had this problem before and help from this forum solved it. Hopefully some advice will solve it again. When we print on this pop-up non curl polyester material it often has a misty overspray due to static we think. What was advised before was to wet the floor around the printer and spray down...
  17. bit the bullet and got a sp540v

We purchased a slightly used sp540v and I was suprised how easy it is to use. We did ok at first using ink that cost half of roland, but we quickly switched to Roland ink when it caused several problems. These problems were immediatly resolved with an ink cartridge change too. You will soon be...
  18. White Cotton Gloves???

sticky gloves I found cheap ugly orange gloves at harbor freight. They have silcone all over and grip nicely. very open so not hot, not a right and left, just works on either hand so faster to slip on. we wear 'em every time and no longer get those finger/palm prints, and we get to look silly...
  19. Clogged Ink Lines OR...?

We had this with the cyan. After a syringe pull it worked for a week, then we were doing it every day. The pull on that line was so hard there had to be a clog in the line. Flushing it did not help, but running a roland cyan cartridge finally disolved this clog and we now run only roland ink...
  20. ROLAND INK or THIRD PARTY

We ran solaris for one year with no problem... then little things that took time and money to fix started and when we fixed it the problems kept coming back. See the recent "Black is printing green" thread. Pay a little more now and save a lot of money, time and frustration later. That's my 2 cents.
