I have a partial roll of film that's 3 years old. Still plenty sticky when you peel back a corner. Can I print and install on an interior block wall and expect it to last? 3M tech bulletin says 2 year shelf life. I'm sick of making 3M executives wealthy.
I'm liking the IJ35 less...
I've used the ij35 extensively the last 4+ years and recently have been getting complaints about failed adhesive. My rep from Pioneer in Pittsburgh says he wouldn't use it except on "dirty coroplast". I'm starting to think he's right. 3M quality just ain't what it...
Anyone know if this film is compatible with a Mimaki JV3 running ss2 solvent ink? It apparently works with a Seiko solvent ink according to 3M, but the JV3 is untested.
I designed and installed a 4' x 16' printed mural behind a customer's retail counter, looks fabulous. This guy looks past all that is great about it and complains about the abrasion marks from the felt-wrapped squeegee I used to install the film. I felt like reaching through the phone to choke...

It is a 42" x 13' cabinet with cutout letters. I had the letters cut via waterjet, and legs bent around the edges to retrofit the cabinet. Material is .125".
Here's another question: my plan is to apply the film, cut out letters, then affix trans white acrylic to back. The vinyl will want...
I am applying some IJ35C to some bare aluminum panels to retrofit a backlit cabinet. How should it be prepped to insure long exterior life? The 3M tech bulletin says the film can be applied to metal, but does not say how to prep. Wax and grease remover? Isopropyl alcohol?
Look for a used printer. I made the jump a year ago, and bought a used 54" Mimaki JV3. GOOD printer. The trick is to keep it running. If your market is good for digital print work (ie. signs, wraps, etc.), go for it. Great for banners, too.
I still don't have a laminator. I have a...
