  1. Please help - VS 540 printing issue

I have seen this before. Update the firmware to the current version. This should fix it, if not call your dealer. The VS has a 2 year warranty, get it fixed while still under warranty.
  2. SC540 Servo Board Keeps Breaking

I agree, but would just replace it, with the guides. It's an inexpensive part, but pain in the neck to install. I've seen this part go bad and trash servo boards, as well as scan motor (if over 1000 hrs replace it), and other motors that are failing too. Gettin any errors, esp motor errors?
  3. Roland sp300v Head alignment problem

Clean the encoder strip front and back using a clean, dry lint free cloth. Have you noticed any print quality issues?
  4. Signs of needing a new printhead or servicing?

Definately replace the cap tops. There is some contamination in the yellow, this is caused by the cap top failing. I think new caps and med clean will get the nozzles back. At most may need to syringe ink thru cap.
  5. SignLab and Roland Color Library?

Does anyone know if Roland's Color Library is compatible with SignLab Print & Cut, v7.1 or v8? Can you use the Roland colors to export to VersaWorks?
  6. I have banding in prints

A tech from Mutoh explained to me that the 3M IJ180C is one of the more dense vinyls and to adjust the heater settings accordingly. I too have found that on most solvent units this media has the most banding problems. He suggested turning pre heater all the way up, print heater barely on, and...
  7. Print head cleaning question.

First manually check the ink cart to see if empty. If not it is probably the cap top, if haven't replaced in past 12-18 months. Try the syringe on the cap top, if no resistance on syringe then the cap isn't sealing properly and needs to be replaced. Ink clogging the lines rarely happens with...
  8. Print Laminate Cut

NEVER use "Center on Media" when performing a Crop Cut. It will cause problems.
  9. changing out caps on Soljet pro IIsc-540 any tips for me?

I think Roland recomends replacing cap tops every 6 months. I would say every 12 months for the cap tops. Dampers, however, should only be replaced when needed. If they are left alone, rarely will they fail if they are the new style (3rd party ink can damage dampers prematurely). Roland has...
  10. changing out caps on Soljet pro IIsc-540 any tips for me?

Roland Cap Top Replace This document is for the newest mosdel, but will be helpful. Just the first part on placing the unit in cleaning mode is different. Do this how you normally would: press and hold Cleaning button while powering on.
