  1. Roland 960

I was just thinking of just selling locally on Kijiji. I can't imagine anyone would want to pay the shipping for something like that, let alone finding a box that it would fit safely in to ship it, but good food for thought anyways.
  2. Roland 960

So I've been busy with life in general, and have been thinking of selling my Roland 960. I'm trying to figure out approximately what it's worth. I searched E-bay, but didn't find any on there. I've got the cutter along with the software. Graphix Express 6.0 I've got some vinyl, premask, etc...
  3. Paint Mask Material

I have someone looking for some paint mask material, and I got the material quoted from my local supplier, and they priced it at $7.50 cdn per yard (30" roll). Based on the amount needed, I figured my material cost is approx $100. After giving them my quote, he said that he had one guy in the...
  4. Next logical step

So as I've mentioned before, I cut vinyl out of my house. It is not my bread & butter, more just a bit of extra cash. I'm currently running with a 24" Roland PNC-960. I'm giving some serious consideration to getting something newer & bigger. I would like something that would cut minimum of...
  5. How old is to old

Thanks for the info. When you order your vinyl for a job, do you typically just order a roll of whatever the customer wants, or do you use a multiplier factor based on your measurements? (2x actual, 3x actual, etc)
  6. How old is to old

I'm sure some of you will laugh at this. I've got some vinyl that is well over 10 years old. I only use it mostly for messing around / testing. Now new vinyl is great. Weeds nicely, etc. I do find that over time it just doesn't weed very well anymore. Any real rule of thumb for a "shelf...
  7. Vinyl Cutter - trouble with small text

My biggest reason for cutting something this small, is for a paint mask, and one section has very small letters. (prob 1/4") It was for my own use, so not terribly concerned if I couldn't get it right. I may try the idea of slow cut, light weight & double pass, just to see what happens...
  8. Vinyl Cutter - trouble with small text

Cool! (well not really), but as least I know it's not just me. :thumb:
  9. Vinyl Cutter - trouble with small text

My Roland PNC-960 seems to have trouble cutting small text. It's got a new blade, and new cutting strip. Any cuts that are larger are not an issue, it's just very small text. Is that just nature of the beast for text that small, or perhaps it's just more a problem with my old tired Roland cutter.
  10. Roland PNC-960 DIP Switch Settings

My old Roland has a couple of DIP switches that I'm not sure what the difference is in the settings. For the most part, it works great the way it is, but mostly curious as to what conditions you would change these settings. 1. Blade Offset 0.25 or 0.175 (currently set to 0.25) 2. Sheet Weight...
  11. Shipping

Found this forum a couple weeks ago, so thought I'd join. I've been doing vinyl lettering for about 10 years, but mostly just out of my basement, and doing a few odd things for friends / small businesses. I've done a few things that I've sold online, and they've been small enough to flat ship...
